“I STILL LOVE TONYE” (3) SHORT STORY

Intro:
In the last episode of this series, Tonye had come to Obinna’s apartment to apologise for her earlier hostility upon seeing him and Enobong, a fellow corps member and lodge mate. Obinna was about to cook jollof rice and Don, another colleague, had indicated his interest in the meal. Let’s see what happens next. There was a hint of a huge row at the end of that previous episode. What could trigger such and where does it leave the couple?

Reading Episode 1 and Episode 2  will help you appreciate this one better. Don’t forget to join the conversation at the end of the episode and kindly share the story across social media. Enjoy!

“I STILL LOVE TONYE” (3)

Unfortunately for Don, some unexpected fireworks between Obinna and Tonye halted the meal preparation. This is how it happened:

Obinna had immediately begun to prepare the ingredients for cooking the jollof rice. Tonye helped with removing the bones from the dried fish, soaking the broken pieces of the fish in hot water and making small conversation in the process. They were so comfortable and happy together, like an old couple cooking in their own home.

Obinna sliced the onions, blended the fresh pepper and tomatoes. Meanwhile, he had washed and was parboiling the rice. When he was about to wash the blanched rice, Tonye offered to help. Obinna, feeling that she wanted to take over the cooking from that point, declined.

“Why don’t you watch something on TV?” Obinna had a 17-inch, flat-screen LED TV and enjoyed communal cable TV subscription with some other lodge mates.

“Nah, I prefer to be right here with you,” Tonye replied, putting her arms around him. “You don’t know how much I’ve missed you.”

“It certainly wasn’t enough to bring you back earlier. And you didn’t even call.”

“I was being monitored to see if I would contact you.”

Tonye was nuzzling Obinna’s neck from behind. “I had some things I needed to do and I couldn’t attend to them till Boma the Beast travelled out of the country.”

The mention of Boma was like pouring cold water on Obinna, who was getting excited by Tonye’s touch. He dropped the half-drained pot of rice.

“You mean you were with him the whole time.”

Tonye, seeing that Obinna had stiffened regretted mentioning Boma’s name. She was wary of the direction their conversation was going.

“No!” she responded.

Obinna turned round and moved away from her. He was obviously expecting further explanation.

“I stayed with him the night we left here and the day we got to Port Harcourt. Then he went to Abuja to get his visa for….”

“I’m not interested in where he went. What I want to know is HOW you stayed with him. What sort of arrangement did you guys have?”

“I don’t understand what you’re asking.”

“Oh yes, you do!” Tonye walked back to Obinna’s room and sat on the bed but he wasn’t relenting. Leaning on the wall separating his room from the kitchen, he asked her pointedly, “Did you sleep with him?”

“Why would you ask me that?”

“Why shouldn’t I? And I demand an answer; did you sleep with him?”

“You’re being unreasonable, Obinna. Why are you trying to dredge up the past? I’m here now, isn’t that what is most important?”

Obinna remained implacable. He dreaded the answer he would receive but he felt he ought to know.

“It was the day we left here. We had just checked into the suite …”

His earlier dread notwithstanding, Obinna still felt sucker punched upon hearing Tonye say those words. “You slept with another guy, the same day you accepted my proposal of marriage?”

“I didn’t actually sleep with him, I just made him come.”

“Jesus! Are you justifying yourself? You sound as if there’s a difference.”

“You saw how he was that day. I had to do something to calm him down.”

“I think you should leave.” Obinna declared, pointing to the door.

“You’re sending me out? It was just a bl#wjob. I had to do it for my own safety.”

Obinna gagged but he recovered himself. “No, you didn’t have to do anything. You didn’t even have to leave with him. You made a choice. Now you’ll have to live with it.”

“You don’t understand. You knew I had a boyfriend when you proposed.”

“Are you saying that this is my fault? Why are my even talking to you still?”

“Seriously? You’re throwing me out when I’ve been making efforts to be free from him. Don’t you want to know how I’ve been trying …?”

“I don’t care. I insist that you leave.”

Tonye did not appreciate being tossed out like dirt. “You are so naive, you don’t know how the world works.”

“And you have a broken moral compass.”

“You’re judgmental and you think everything is black and white. Grow up, Obinna!”

“I have nothing more to say to you,” Obinna declared, and held open the door for Tonye, slamming it shut after she left.

Wow! This is big trouble, don’t you think? Love to know how you see the events in this episode.

Obinna feels terrible and it seems he is ending the relationship. Do you think he should?

How would you respond to what Tonye did with Boma and her manner of telling it to Obinna?

Tonye implied that having a boyfriend meant having sex with him. Do you feel sex is unavoidable in a relationship between singles?

Any advice for these two in view of the latest development?

  • Oh I love the contemporary nature of this narrative.?❤?

Obinna is such a nice guy. I am in love with his gentleness.
And YES! I think it’s time to call it quit. Why would Tonye accept to be with Obinna when she had Boma as her boyfriend . No matter how unserious her relationship is with Boma, accepting a marriage proposal means going way too far.?

What Tonye did with Boma is a clear sign of her love for Boma and whatever it is they have. At this point, I think Obinna is her “back -up guy” if I can call it that,? Just in case Boma disappoints.

As for sex and singles, it depends on the moral views of the two individuals involved.
Personally, I think sex is avoidable, especially if the two persons have other activities that they both enjoy like swimming, fishing, sports or even taking a walk. This helps to create bond between them.
Some people have other things taking up their time that reduces the relevance of sex. Young persons should learn not to use sex for apology or soliciting for favours.??

My advice is that Obinna should take his time, think things through before breaking up with Tonye, for good. ? I feel bad for that good guy. He doesn’t deserve this ill treatment all in the name of Love. Enough of it “biko ” (please?) He needs love too and Tonye cannot give him that.
This story should end already , the suspense is killing me???❤?

  • Okechukwu Obiora

For me Obinna should just end the relationship and move on with his life. Tonye has clearly shown that she can’t be a loyal girlfriend/wife. Nice post ma. Part four please ?

  • Ejiofor Emmanuel

Tonye should be faithful to Obinna, not having any side relationship with Boma. Tonye should make it clear to Boma that it is over between them to avoid complications.

    • Edith Ohaja

It’s the right thing to do. You are richly blessed in Jesus’ name.

      • Ezeh John Onyekachi

Tonye should understand that Obinna has not asked her for friendship but for marriage. However having accepted Obinna’s proposal, she should not have further business with Boma, her (ex-guy).Tonye should understand that no man would .want to share his betrothed with another man .

        • Edith Ohaja

Very true! Young people don’t always think things through, i.e. consider all the implications before doing them.

  • Ngwu Ifebuche Celestina

For me, what Obinna did was right because I needed to think and know what to do. But even at that, he would have listened to Tonye and know what she wanted to say. Now if Boma was Tonye’s boyfriend, then know that it won’t be easy for them to quit just like that. Besides, maybe Boma didn’t know that Tonye has accepted marriage proposal from Obinna.

    • Edith Ohaja

If you read the previous series, “Will You Marry Me?”, you will have all these issues you’re raising cleared. You are super blessed in Jesus’ name.

  • Cynthia

I love this short story. Tonye just wants to use one stone to kill two birds. She doesn’t want to leave her boyfriend and still wants to get married to Obinna. Sex is not love. My advice is that Obinna should end the relationship. Nice story. Next one, pls☺

  • Agbo Onyekachi Obumneme

Obinna is at fault ab initio. Why did he propose to a lady, knowing fully well that she was still in a relationship with another man?

    • Edith Ohaja

The situation that led to the proposal is clear in the previous series that this is a sequel to. It’s titled, “Will You Marry Me?”

  • Stephens Chinecherem Grace

Tonye is really immature! How can you tell your fiance that you did a bl*w job on your terrifying boyfriend? Even if you had to tell him that, there are nicer ways to do so. I think she really needs some growing up. If Obinna should marry her with that behavior, she will keep getting him into trouble with her immaturity.

  • ojima faith

He should forgive her since she came back but she should end her relationship with Boma if she really loves obinna

  • odojoe209@gmail.com

The story is becoming unfortunate for Obinna who has good intention for Tonye. I understood Tonye to be such a person that likes a certain thing but don’t know how to get it.She loves Obinna but Boma’s influence does not allow her to be reasonable even when the hand writing is becoming clear that Boma does not have any meaningful agenda for her.I advice Tonye the earlier the better to leave Boma and make her way right with Obinna and for Obinna ,he shouldn’t completely ignore Tonye as she will repent and be on her senses.

    • Edith Ohaja

Wow, this sounds like the advice an old person would give. May your wisdom keep flowing and I hope you use it to bless others much.

  • Ajibe Chinonye

Do you know one thing that I truly love about this story, it strongly preaches against sex before marriage and this is a cankerworm that has eaten so deep into our society. But I pray Obinna gets to forgive her but to marry, he#l no! (forgive my language, MA). But I truly commend Obinna’s reaction. Though in rage, he is still calm.

    • Edith Ohaja

Yes, Christian conduct is very important. We should not react to issues like people who don’t have the Holy Spirit indwelling them. May you shine as a light wherever you are too in Jesus’ name.

  • Ezeibe chiamaka

I think Obinna should end the relationship. Sexual immorality is a big deal and to make matters worse, Tonye does not see what is wrong with what she has done. Obinna is a Christian and as such should marry someone that have the same views with him.

    • Edith Ohaja

Sound point of view. Thank you. Let’s see if he follows that advice in the next episode, just published.

  • Ugwoke Benedeth

The relationship is an unhealthy one and therefore I will advice Obinna to quit and look for his kind of person because they are not birds of a feather.

  • I wish Tonye didn’t have to say those harsh words to Obinna. For goodness sake she was unfaithful to Obinna!! I expected a little remorse from her. Now, Irrespective of what I feel about her action, I think Obinna shouldn’t let go. If he does, she will go on with the notion that every relationship must include s*x. He should forgive her and prove beyond reasonable doubts that a relationship can be built on chastity.

  • Amana Sharon Umola

This Tonye girl eh!!!! Imagine!!! No remorse, just Justification for her actions. I love Obinna’s reaction. I just hope he has realized that he does not mean anything to her.

  • chah ugochukwu adiensa

wow.i think obinna did the right thing.i mean how cans omeone who claims to be marrying you do that to you and then tells you in a manner that is void of any apologies, remorse or regret, like you are supposed to thank her for what she did. The tonye really has broken moral principles. i mean why would you have sex with your boyfriend? thats so unholy and outright stupidity. it goes against everything in the bible. again, obinna did the right thing. i know it will be dificult for obinna to forget her but, i believe the best thing is to forgive, but forget her. she isnt for him at all

  • Onyinyechi

Obinna is a quiet guy. There are some that will even beat her. But he knew that Tonye has a boyfriend and went ahead to propose to her. Some people take decisions that will later bring problems. Obinna would have known that he can’t stand seeing her with another man, so he should have sorted it out before proposing.

  • Obi Chukwunonso

I would say Tonye is in a dilemma trying to juxtapose between Obinna and Boma. but what she should understand is Obinna unlike Boma has promised her marriage, which should be the end point of every relationship.

  • Orakwue Kosisochukwu

Ma,reading through your write ups, inspires me to pen down more stories ma. you are a blessing to me specially

  • BERNARD CHIDERA

It is too bad when people do not understand what they want in a relationship. Tonye should just be truthful to herself and then to Obinna. she is just making everything difficult for him. Thanks.

  • Omeje Daniel ifeanyi

Tonye doesn’t even think she is being treated fairly by Obinna, she sees her actions as a predominant normality. Obinna should find himself a lady with the same “moral compass” as he, not someone who doesn’t even see fornication as a big deal.

  • Chidiebere Chukwuemeka

Imagine the insolence and pomposity, telling Obinna he didn’t know how the wold works. True he (Obinna) may be naive but for the sake of love and for accepting his proposal she should have at least respected that day. For a short tempered person like myself, if I don’t lay a hand on you that moment you voiced the nonsense out of your mouth then you thank your stars and forever disappear from my presence.

  • Egenti Blossom Mmesoma

I don’t think that sex is unavoidable in relationships because a relationship is all about love, trust, communication, loyalty, compromise, honesty and happiness. Therefore having sex in a relationship doesn’t secure the relationship between two people,it doesn’t guarantee happiness in the relationship, and it also doesn’t mean that the person genuinely loves you.

  • Awelle

it depends of the kind of relationship one is in abd who you are in a relationship with. Sex is not unavoidable or anything like that. It is a matter of choice, there is something called consent . No one can force you into doing anything . Tonye has no defense, she is just being selfish, she wants obinna all to herself .She saw him with enobong and wanted to bite off eno’s head but she wants him to simply accept and understand what she and Boma did .Keep it going aunty Edith, Kudos!

  • Ugwu Matilda.A.

I think this is the peak of it,Obinna should end up the relationship to avoid further complications in life. How can she even have the impetus to say that it was just a bl#w job, that shows irresponsibility and immorality of her. Can’t wait to see the end of this story. Interesting.

  • Ikedichi blessing henry

If your girlfriend or supposed fiance can cheat ,at such magnitude then just be rest assured that u married a woman that is termed “our wife” cos she will always cheat on u ,tonye isn’t worth the stress, no one dies

  • Obeta Lillian Chiamaka

Obinna’s behaviour was out of jealousy and I really do not blame him for that

    • Edith Ohaja

I don’t think that was the main reason. What the girl did was so wrong and she wasn’t even sorry.

  • Ezeha Judith

You are so naive, you don’t know how the world works.” Strong words. Obinne did the right thing asking her to leave because the relationship will definitely crash

  • Helen Onugwu

Sometimes, i feel that believers are becoming more worldly than unbeilivers
Marriage is hard enough when you have two believers who have opposing values, why she spewing such
unclean words from her mouth….after fornicating there was no sense of remorse…this story is for unbelievers

    • Edith Ohaja

You don’t understand the background to the story. It is a sequel to another series, “Will You Marry Me?” The boy is saved but the girl is a nominal Christian. Keep reading the subsequent episodes and you’ll see the point of this particular series.

  • Ndujihe clifford chiebuka

Now i am fully convinced that tonye does not love obinna, no matter her excuse, she just acted as a whore, she does not deserve someone like obinna this is what i call an imperfect match.

  • Ndujihe clifford chiebuka

Now i am fully convinced that Tonye does not love Obinna, no matter her excuse, she just acted like a whore, she does not deserve someone like obinna, this is what i call an imperfect match.

  • Okafor charles c.

I believe that obinna should forgive tonye. He is a good guy who has tonye’s interest at heart.obinna should cancel any link between boma and tonye for a postive relation in the future.

  • ikpechukwu stephnora chinonyerem

NEW DAWN GREETINGS TO YOU MA
Wow this story is so so interesting obinna is really a nice gentle man for he to still love Tonye after every of her wrong doings he is really a lovely man
love is really a thing of expression the feeling you have for some one special in your life not only a feeling a strong affection you have for some one
so obinna is a man of dignity a man of courage and a man of different indeed his case is different from other men

  • Okonkwo sophia

Look at her mouth,* I only made him cum* geez* let me not jump into conclusion…..she made a statement *before the beast left, referring to Boma*. Meanwhile, there should be a pause in their relationship.

  • Ukpai-uma Lucy

The drama of Obinna proposing to a girl who has a boyfriend creates a scene of astonishment and wonders.but actually would never know his intention for his proposal. As well Tonye’s decision and attitude towards the situation. If she knew she would still continue with Boma, she would have let Obinna know. But then it is good that he is now knows who Tonye really is. Well, I think the finger of God is actually saying something about their relationship and it is upto Obinna to either forgive and accept her or find someone else.

  • Erilem Happiness

.OMG…. I am really speechless here…. This is just too much for Obinna… She is not even apologetic about it… I really doubt Tonye loved Obinna.. Was that really the best option ?? Why is she torturing him when she knew she wasn’t ready to leave the so called boyfriend ??? Nothing can ever be an excuse for infedilty

  • Ojukwu Mmesoma Favour

How can Tonye be so immature? The fact she has accepted Obinna’s proposal is enough reason for her call off whatever she has with any guy.

  • Grace Okere

    “Just a blow job…”
Indeed, Tonye has no morals…Obinna deserves more.

  • Obikeguna ebele

This tonye girl has really gone too far. i mean why would you have sex with your boyfriend knowing fully well she is engaged to obinna and for him Its high time obinna calls it quit with that girl…can you imagine she isnt even apologetic about it

  • Nwoye Chiamaka Favour

Sex shouldn’t be used as an excuse to calm ones temper!. Obinna is such a mild character gentle and loving but he seems a bit naive to have suspected that something wouldn’t have occurred between Bomma and Tonye and to certain issues or could it be just love ?

  • Ogbuagu chinenye

What tonye displayed was not a good moral conduct, and to try and justify her actions to her fiance is way over the top, even the bible speaks against immoral condict and affairs with someone that is not your spouse.

  • Egenti chidimma Jennifer

Tonye did wrong by accepting obinna proposal even when she had a boyfriend. She made obinna think she was serious.. Even the way obinna accepted her wholeheartedly is amazing.. It depicts his gentleness. Tonye needs to make up her mind
Sex is not a priority in relationship and no matter how youths try to Sugarcoat it.. It’s still FORNICATION! ?

  • Gabriel Chinasa

What Tonye did with Boma is wrong and also the way she told Obinna

  • Chigbo Victor Ebuka

Fact is she deceived obinna by accepting his proposal. She made obinna think she was serious about him. I hope she stays for Good

  • Am kinda getting confused. .Tonye actually had a boyfriend? Why then did she accept obinna’s proposal. .well I really feel for obinna because he is passing through emotional trauma. ..He should think wisely before taking rash decisions so he won’t regret them later.

  • Ogidi Gift Uzoma

Obinna should end the relationship. I don’t see Tonye as a faithful girlfriend or wife.
If Obinna continues with Tonye he might die young.

Very nice post ma. God bless you MA

  • Tonye is soooooooooo annoying, why is she trying to justify her wrong doing?… Will you walk out of that room?!!.. Human beings ehhh…

  • Oleighibe Oluebube Tessy

I’m so sad right now. Obinna has got every right to behave the way he did towards Tonye, I wonder if he will forgive her because s*x is involved, she more like cheated on Obinna. But come to think about it, Tonye has a boyfriend who she hasn’t broken up with before accepting Obinna’s proposal, considering the fact her boyfriend is a rich guy and maybe supporting her financially, It will be difficult to just break up with him (Boma).

Well Obinna has to just forgive her and clarify things including her stand with Boma guy, because they can’t be together and she’ll still be seeing Boma.

I’m so scared, Obinna please forgive Tonye, she won’t do it next time. Lol.

  • Joana ushie

    Did she say grow up?
    Lol
This Obinna guy self when will you even realise that this bae is not good enough for you. How can a gentleman like you be with someone like that?
Should I send you my number let’s hook up lolll

  • Kenneth Ebuka

Obinna ought to have controlled his temper and shouldn’t have thrown Tonye out of his house that way since he knew that she is not a born again and, moreover she did what she did just to escape Boma for him(Obinna).

  • Iroegbu Chinatu Amara

Wow…Yet another drama as expected. The peaceful and loving moment shattered by few words… Well like obinna said, TONYE had a choice but let’s see how it goes…

  • Ugwoke ifechukwu melvina

I don’t blame obinna for getting all worked up over what Tonye did. Tonye on her own part shouldn’t have done what she did no matter what her excuse was, cause saying that she did it to protect herself is an excuse. Obinna had no right to ask her to leave. In every relationship, there will always be ups and downs, quarrels and make ups. It just depends on how one handles their temper. Obinna should learn how to control his temper in every situation.

  • Abonyi chisom E

Oh? poor obinna this is the worst thing a guy can hear from a girl he loves so much, honestly tonye is not doing the rigt thing at all she should choose one person either Boma or obinna. i cant wait to know who finally won tonye’s love.

  • IBEH CHIAMAKA JENNIFER

What tonye did was very wrong. Obinna had every right to get angry with her. She said what she did to obinna and took it lightly as if he was going to just hug her and tell her that, he was okay with that. But anyways, tonye should still apologise to him and obinna should also try to forgive her if he is still interested in their relationship and wants to make it work

  • Kat

Yay! That’s my boy! Tonye’s moral compass isn’t just broken o. Its shattered even. There can’t possibly be any explanation to justify what she did and I’m glad Obinna isn’t so blinded by love that he would ignore her behavior. Serves her right.

  • Oma

The way tonye handled the whole issue is wrong ,you know you have a boyfriend yet you accepted obinna’s request to marry you . Instead of playing with the guys heart wouldn’t it be better if you have told him ,you had a boyfriend before his proposal and that you still have feeelings for the suppose boyfriend.
And more so why will a girl that have accepted a man’s proposal still have a thing for the ex or even still be in contact with the ex .we girls should know that once a man propose to us and we accept , it is expected of us to cut any emotional ties ,we are having with every other guy.
But if Obinna still love her I don’t think he should end the relationship because to air is human to forgive is divine.
Sex is not an ingredients to a perfect relationship so I think as singles we should try as much as possible to avoid sex and live a righteous life

  • Sex should not define a relationship. Having two relationship at a go is way bad. Courting is advicable for every christian but sleeping with a man before marriage is bad and it tagged fourbication . I just hope she apologies for her words to obinna. Because the is patience enough to have waited . Thank you ma

  • Nnamani Eunice chidinma

What did I just read???? like who does that? Obinna has really taking a lot from that tonye of a girl, is time he put a stop to her nonsense????I feel for Obinna???

  • Ezeh Blessing

Chai too bad for Tonye’s immaturity. Who have sex just to calm a man down? Obinna should just let go of everything if he don’t want to get hurt again. Loving the narrative and suspense of each episode.

  • Agu Ginika

I think Obinna should call it a quit because Relationships ought to be built on faithfulness and Tonye did not show any sign of being remorseful for her Actions with Boma.

  • Nnamani Oluoma Esther

For me, I think nothing can justify what Tonye did with or to Boma. And she still even tries defending herself. Putting myself in Obinna’s shoes, I would have reacted the way he did and probably worst. However, Obinna should not have purposed to Tonye considering that she already has a boyfriend. If she claims to be wanting a breakup with Boma, Obinna should have waited till after the breakup is final.

  • Afiadigwe Nnedinso Rita

Having a double relationship can be dangerous because you might end up loosing the right person. Tonye is still confused because she doesn’t know who to be with and that made Obinna treat her the way he did. This is a must read for all youths.

  • Ugama Gloria Nkechinyere

Double dating is a dangerous game, it keeps you in a lump of confusion. Tonye was not doing the right thing.

  • EKPEMANDU DOMINICA. N

Oh no! This is too bad. Tonye is just a confused Lady, who does not know what she wants It is too bad that after expecting to see his love back, she came back to hurt him more.

    • Ibe favour kalu

It’s bad that Tonye is two-timing,and she is taking pleasure in it too because she thinks that sex is not avoidable in a relationship: as most young adults think too. But,I think sex is avoidable, there can always be a healthy relationship without sex. I also think that the best thing Obinna should do is to end the relationship for the meantime. My advice to the couple is this: they should give each other space and time to think and decide where they really want their relationship to end.

  • Onwusonye Promise

OMG! Tonye is just something else… I like the fact that Obinna is becoming man enough to say no when he is meant to.
What kind of lady is that, the manner with which she said “I only made him come” as though it’s just a normal thing to do.
I’m enjoying the story… Keep it up MA.

  • Blessing Udeobasi

    Women ooo!!!
Tonye why are you spoiling our name like this?
She should just go back to Boma and continue making him come just to calm him down… She doesn’t deserve such a good person like Obinna.

  • Eze Vivian Nkiruka

Tonye should clearly understand that she is now betrothed to obinna having accepted his proposal to marry him and that makes her to have no business with boma who is seen as her (ex-boyfriend) because she is now betrothed to another man that will not want to share his woman with another man and to be faithful to herself and obinna, but i think she is just making everything difficult for obinna when she keeps having affair with boma and which make obinna to feel that she does not deserve someone like him anymore, which i call imperfect match and to forget about her.

  • Okoro nneoma

This love is going down the hill drastically and I blame it on indecisive Tonye. She is playing with gentle Obinna’s heart and I believe she didn’t end her relationship with Boma. I wonder what exactly Tonye feels for Obinna. Let me go and read the next part

  • Anekwe Paschaline

Tonye’s attitude is very wrong. You don’t just say that to him without any remorse. She didn’t even feel like she did something wrong and she was blaming Obinna. For what Obinna implied, being in a relationship is not an avenue for sex, sex is a union for marriage but it is unfortunate that is not the case anymore among the youths. I wouldn’t make any judgments yet on where there relationship is heading, I’ll just see how the story goes.

  • Ogbu Gloria

Tonye still don’t understand life, you are at fault and you are still trying to justify yourself. I hope she sit down this time and find out what she really wants than causing innocent Obinna unnecessary heartbreaks.

  • Ezeh Onyekachukwu c

Just when I thought peace has been restored, I never knew that this was the beginning …Obinna should have given her a chance to talk

  • Ugwoke Victor Nnabuike

Now the whole story is getting sweeter. However, there’s no moral justification to what Tonye did, no matter how she paint it. In fact, the naive nature of Obinna (which Tonye claim he has), as far as I’m concerned, will manifest the moment he accepts those stories of hers. You don’t expect the whole truth in such situation. Do you?
Meanwhile, I still admire Obinna’s maturity by helping her use the room’s exit door, instead of giving her real beating.
    Thanks, Aunty Edith.

    • Edith Ohaja

Hmmmmm, the idea of beating should never come up ooo! We can always sort our our differences without resorting to fisticuffs. Bless you!

  • Chioma Agbaraka

I don’t think there is anything as painful as a person telling you something wrong they did and still justifying their actions or trying to prove that it wasn’t a big deal.

It won’t take anything for Tonye to have been remorseful and plead for forgiveness.

I feel pity for Obinna. He sincerely does not deserve all this. He seems like a good man who is trapped in the webs of love already.

Sex is totally avoidable, it just depends on the individual.

Obinna should take his time before ending the relationship finally

  • Ezeoyili Ogochukwu Perpetual

I think Obinna should end the relationship though it won’t be easy. Tonye is yet to realize what she wants and I hope she does not regret her actions when the time comes. Having a boyfriend does not mean having sex and it shouldn’t make one to have sex. Sex is not love and besides it is not advisable for single people to have sex before marriage.

  • Ugwu Chika Samson

Girls of this century can not be trusted, I can not believe it after cheating on obinna, Tonye still justify her self as a saint, I just pity obinna who might be going through emotional trauma thinking over this situation .

  • Chukwunwenwa Chinenye

It’s so unfortunate that Tonye is using Obinna for a rebound.
Meanwhile, Obinna is a nice guy and doesn’t deserve someone like Tonye. Not really because he is her ‘reboundee’ but because her rude attitude might bring out the beast in Obinna someday.

To think Tonye is even justifying her deeds is quite heartbreaking. That’s so unhealthy for their budding relationship.

They really need to have a meaningful discussion with regards their relationship. They should make their stance known.

  • Okonkwo Goodness Chiamaka

Tonye isn’t in her right senses why would you offend a person instead of apologising you are trying to justify your action by blaming it on your partner. Tonye is yet to understand all about relationship goals. I think obinna should have a rethink about the relationship. Tonye doesn’t deserve a man like obinna

  • Onyejekwe favour kosisor

Tonye addressed Obinna as being too judgemental but that is actually what Christianity entails, we don’t call white black or black white, the truth matters. She’s justifying herself but doesn’t want to even see Obinna with someone else. Now that is madness!

  • Ajibo Chioma Blessing

Interesting, so all her attitude was to make boma leave her, but I don’t think that was the Right thing to do knowing fully well that Obinna has proposed to her

  • ogbodo somtochukwu

hmmmmmmmm…….how can tonye or what ever her name is say its no big deal to BJ a guy dt is not your husband , not even a husband to be.what has the world gotten to..
if obinna wants to end this marriage proposal here and now , am in full support of it, becuase that girl does not have shame .
who knews wot she will do tommorow and say its no big deal. get preginant for the other guy??
both wot she did and the way she told obinna is wrong
my advise to obinna is he should end everything joor…
this is a slap on his face as a man ……how can the woman you want to marry Bj another man on the NIGHT of the proposal and tell me to my face that am being naive
i will say ‘go to hell”

  • Agbo onyekachi obumneme

Begin in a relationship is not synonymous with sex but I wonder what any body who is not ready for marriage is doing in a relationship. As a Christian, I believe that the only relationship a believer should be found in before marriage, aside normal friendship that people do engage in is courtship and not just courtship but pure courtship free from immorality. Engaging into relationship when one is not ready for marriage will lead to temptation and it is not encouraged. My advice to Obinna is that he either ignore all that has happened and get married to Tonye or end the relationship that both of them could move on. To Tonye I advise to be more deliberate in her decisions. If it is Boma she wants to marry, let her tell Obinna explicitly and if it Obinna she wants, let her make it clear to Boma. Her problem is that she wants to please both of them which will not work and will only land her to more troubles. You can’t serve two masters at the same time.

  • Enobong Daniel

From my view, Tonye seems wayward. I don’t know how innocent Obinna ended up with her.
this is a warning signal and Obinna should heed to it. a promiscuous woman before marriage will remain promiscuous after marriage,it doesn’t change a thing.

  • Onyia Queendalene Ngozi

Tonye made no point sleeping with Boma after Obinna’s proposal. At the point Tonye was telling Obinna of what transpired between her and Boma, she was meant to feel remorse and not to shout back or defend herself for her wrong deeds.

  • Ibe favour kalu

t’s bad that Tonye is two-timing. she is also having pleasure in it(imagine the way she told obinna about it,that it is just a bl#wjob). she thinks that sex is unavoidable in a relationship: just as many youths think. But, I think sex is avoidable in a relationship(we should always keep to good morals). My advice to the couple is this: they should give each other space and time to think about where they really want their relationship to end.

  • Ozioko Glory Oluchi

This is really a complicated situation. Obinna should not end the relationship although he feels hurt. What Tonye did is not justifiable, and the way she said it doesn’t show that she knows the gravity of her offence. Nevertheless, Obinna should accept her back if she is remorseful. They can call it a new beginning, and those things will become her past, if Tonye is no more keeping in touch with Boma.

  • Okalishi Oliver

I won’t blame each of them for any action taken so far, because Tonye would have told Obinna that she has a boyfriend before him. But due to the worrisome attitude of boys of these days, Obinna might have wheedled her into accepting him and forgo Burma.
So Tonye would be like, to use the chance and free herself from Burma so he could leave for his travel while she would settle with Obinna. But both are misunderstanding each other.
Moreover, if she had not told Obinna she had a boyfriend then, she was wrong and Obinna would be right in every action he takes against her.

  • Eze Blessing Ada

Should I be advising Obinna to call it quits with the relationship? Most definitely. But then, why won’t I think that everyone and relationship deserves a second chance in situations like this? Summarily, Obinna should think. Is Tonye worth the wait? Again, no excuses, Tonye should be faithful to Obinna. As things unfold, we can safely grab cups of pop corn, pretend like we’re in theaters and watch this movie set in motion… God bless you Ma.

  • Okafor Emmanuel

Wow! I love how he handled tonye. Serves her right. It gets annoying when she tries to pin the problem on obinna. Obinna handled it like a man

  • Ifeanyichukwu Eunice

Tonye is a multi faced person. She is in love with obinna while giving out blowjobs. It’s sad that poor obinna has to get his feelings hurt

  • Joy emeka

Ahhhhh, tonye so bold in the nonsense she did, she only made him come what rubbish, I loved the way obinna acted he sent her away. I pray she doesn’t come back because that relationship is not a good one

  • Agugbua chisom

I really don’t like this Tonye. How could she boldly tell him all she did. Doesn’t she care about how he would feel. I am not sure she loves Obinna as she claims. I just wish Obinna would stop loving her and love someone else but I know its not that easy. Anyways Obinna should have listened to her explanations still. The key to a good and lasting relationship is communication. He should have heard her out. She had already said the worst, what more could she say to hurt him. He should have controlled his anger, listened and then decide whether she’s worth forgiving.

  • Oba Cindy biobele

I believe it is time for Obinna to let her go. Love is not stupidity. Tonye isn’t even remorseful for the fact that she cheated on her fiancé. Rather, she is justifying her actions. Cheating is cheating, wether intercourse was involved or not. And her saying Obinna knew she had a boyfriend in Port Harcourt before asking is dumb because she could have said no but she chose not to. Obinna was right asking her to leave. She should kindly stay out for good. This really is a bulldozer in our beautiful love story.

  • Nwosu chinwedu favour

Wow! I never knew Tonye had a boyfriend before she met obinna, that’s really bad . Why did she accept a proposal from obinna ,knowing fully well that she’s not done with Boma. I fear o

  • Ugwuja Deborah

Tonye’s action is unbelievable. There us absolutely nothing that can justify what she did. And her reasons for doing what she did are just outrageous. “For her safety?” I honestly disagree .

  • Ajibo lovelyn onyedikachi

Nawaoo, Will I say that Tonye is selfish or she is using Obinna for an option?. How would she accept Obinna’s proposal when she is quite sure she had another boyfriend as if that’s not enough, she still carried herself back to Obinna because Boma, “the so called boyfriend “has travelled. My advice to obinna is just quite everything with Tonye and move on with his life.

  • Chinelobi Treasure Oluchi

    Tonye is insane and unreasonable…
She really sees no fault in what she did.
I can’t wait to see how this story ends…

  • Immanuella Uwa

Tonye should be faithful to Obinna. Tonye should make it clear to Boma that it is over between them, it is the right thing to do.

  • Dike Gerald

Wow! he is so calculative as to allow her cause the provocation. I think she does not know the impact of what she says and how. For now, i think she has tarnished in his heart and it may take time for such to heal. while it appears she pretends to dislike Boma, I don,t think they have parted here.

  • okemiri ifunanya diana

hmmm in this our present age i will say most people are into relationship because of s*x ,honestly speaking i don’t even know why people rush into things without planning on what they will gain,i will say some do it to belong or what we call leaving the life ,catching fun.relationship is not all about s*x tho.am sure there is a good side of it as well as bad side.

  • Ezema onyekachukwu Gideon

In my own view, i think what obinna did is the right thing.i mean how cans someone who claims to be marrying you do that to you and then tells you in a manner that is void of any apologies, remorse or regret, like you are supposed to thank her for what she did.

  • Chigbu Pamela Chinwoke

What Tonye did was deceitful and honestly, if I were in Obinna’s shoes, I would end the relationship immediately. Even Tonye was not feeling any remorse or guilt for her action. Lastly, relationship is not all about having sexual intercourse, there are other ways of being intimate with each other.

  • You cannot in anyway kill two birds with one stone, these days , money and sex is regarded as the bedrock of every relationship which isn’t supposed to be so. Thank God for the fact that Obinna is a gentle man if not…

  • Okere Jovita

Tonye words to Obinna wasn’t encouraging at all she was meant to feel remorse and apologize
All the same Obinna should forgive her
Tonye should stop seeing Boma for any reason except she want to lose Obinna

  • Grace Ugwuaneke

Tonye is just annoying me….., Ifeel she is up to something, why would she raise Boma’s issue where Obinna is? and the way she was saying it dosen’t help matter too.I don’t blame Obinna at all,any normal guy in love would do the same thing.

  • Jumbo Gold

If He clearly knew she was with someone, wouldn’t the respectable thing to do be to wait? this is quite interesting, he gets enraged by what the poor misguided girl did out of fear of her so-called benefactor. It’s so important We walk into relationships with clean sheets, it’s always safer?

  • Favour Nnaemeka

    – Settling for Tonye would be settling for less. I like the fact that despite his gentle nature, Obinna knew where to draw the line. Tonye is playing games with him and what he did was more for the sake of his sanity. Nice one ma!

  • Agbodike Ogochukwu Maryclaret

I feel so bad for Obinna. How is it that he’s the one who keeps his morality in check whereas his so-called fiancée, Tonye, does the exact opposite.

  • Ugwu Ogochukwu A

I am really feeling for Obinna regarding what Tonye told her. I suggest she would have lied to protect hurting Obinna’s feelings. In relationships sometimes, Some truths are best hidden to avoid problems and hurting the other person.

  • Chimezie Goodness Adimchinobi

Tonye’s issue is quiet complicated, you accepted a marriage proposal then left with another man.Its true she is back to Obinna if they truly love themselves then,no need to quit.Love they say conquers all.

  • Chimezie Goodness Adimchinobi

Tonye’s issue is too complicated, you accepted a marriage proposal then left with another man.its true she is back to Obinna,if they truly love themselves then no need to quit.Love they say conquers all.

  • Nwata Blessing Chinyere

You knew l had a boyfriend you proposed” said Tonye. Sis, don’t you know you had a boyfriend before you accepted Obinna’s proposal.
She wasn’t even apologetic, she was busy justifying her actions. Because Obinna is good guy doesn’t mean he’s a fool.
    Thank you.
    Next!

  • Omaga Chiagozie

Oh my I feel for Obinna but I don’t think he should make this decision why he is still angry. From the look of thing he is in love with Tonye and might regret his decision later. But Tonye you no try ooo why break his heart like that. And about sex in relationship i think it is avoidable relationships based in sex does not last. Sex is not criteria for love and telling me that you did that to calm him down is unacceptable but still Obinna should give her chance to explain herself.

  • Onovoh Adaeze Jennifer

Is it that Tonye is confused and doesn’t know what she really want for herself? Why then did she accept Obinna’s marriage proposal, knowing full well she has an unsettled business with Boma. And instead of her to seize the opportunity she had to creatively end things peacefully with Boma, she was rather busy trying to make him cum.

  • Ochekwu Caroline Ene

Tonye should just leave Obinna along, like seriously he deserves better than a player like her and she was still defending her wrong actions…… Too bad ooo, just feeling for Obinna.

  • Uko Iniobong Anthony.

It is hard for obinna to end the relationship because of love he has for tonye. But it is better if he could let go of tonye to avoid heart break.

  • Idika Uloma Sophia

Obinna is a real guy.He is the type of guy that treats women with respect despite how bad they’ve been angered. But why would Tonye be two-timing,and even have the courage to mention the guys name (Boma) in the presence of Obinna? I think Obinna should quickly quit the relationship.Tonye shouldn’t have accepted Obinna’s when she knows so well she has a boyfriend already. Why would Tonye accept to be with Obinna when she knows so well she has a boyfriend already.Tonye is using Obinna as a backup boyfriend. I just feel bad for Obinna. He does not serve this kind of ill treatment from Tonye.

  • Constance

Tonye was so wrong, once you make a decision, you must stick to it. It’s not like Boma had a gun to her head to force her to come with him. She chose Obinna and should have stuck with him no matter what.
I still think that the two will end up together at last but it will take lots of forgiveness from both sides.

  • Uzoma chidera

Tonye is very wrong, she would have not accepted obinna’s proposal in the beginning and would have ended things with Boma right before she started any relationship with obinna, tonye can’t be trusted again and obinna is just a nice and gentle guy who deserves the same treatment.

  • Ebeyi Emmanuel

Tonye’s issues is too complicated, she accepted a marriage proposal and still left with another man… Tonye should make it clear to Boma that it’s over between them…. That’s the right thing to do

  • Tonye was very wrong once you make a decision, you must keepto it. It’s not like Boma had a gun to her head to force her to come with him. She chose Obinna and should have stuck with him no matter what.
I still think that the two will end up together at last but it will take lots of forgiveness from both sides to come to an agreement and they also need God in there life

  • Obajie Chinonyerem

Why did she have to tell Obinna she gave Boma a blowjob? She just made everything worst meanwhile she need to quit make up excuses.

  • Chukwuebuka Okpala

There is an Igbo adage that says, okoro erughi eru wara ọgọdo, ikuku kuo oburu ya na ọgọdọ ya. When a boy ties a wrapper even though he is yet to attain the age of tying a wrapper, breeze will blow both him and his wrapper away when it comes.

This above adage shows that Obinna is actually, yet to attain the level of getting married. Tonye on the other hand doesn’t seem to understand what it means to accept a marriage proposal from a guy. How can you be such intimate with a man when you have accepted to marry another? Don’t you know you have another man in your life when you were accepting to marry Obinna?
