4 FEATURES OF ROYALTY YOU SHOULD HAVE

If you are born again, it doesn’t matter what the natural circumstances of your birth are, the Bible identifies you as royalty.

Revelation 5:9-10 (KJV)
“9. And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
10. And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.”

But many of us are not yet living as royalty. We are yet to fully manifest the attributes that mark people out as regal. Let’s see four of these attributes that we need to exhibit.

Four Pertinent Features of Royalty

1. Power and authority: Royalty exercises dominion and rulership. The words of a sovereign are obeyed without question.

Ecclesiastes 8:4
“Where the word of a king is, there is power: and who may say unto him, What doest thou?”

Job 22:28-29
“28. Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.
29. When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.”

That is power. Your word makes things happen to the extent that you can improve other people’s situation significantly as the scripture above rendered in a newer translation clearly shows:

Job 22:28-29 (NIV)
“28 What you decide on will be done, and light will shine on your ways.
29 When people are brought low and you say, ‘Lift them up!’ then he will save the downcast.”

Jesus confirmed this often in the New Testament as this passage illustrates:

John 14:12-14
“12. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
13. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14I. f ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.”

2. Nobility: Royals are trained from an early age to exhibit an honourable character. They have a responsibility to ensure justice and eschew evil.

Proverbs 16:12
“It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness: for the throne is established by righteousness.”

Here are more verses on this from the teachings given to a king.

Proverbs 31:4-5, 8-9 (NIV)
4. It is not for kings, Lemuel— it is not for kings to drink wine, not for rulers to crave beer,
5. lest they drink and forget what has been decreed, and deprive all the oppressed of their rights.
8. Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.
9. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.

What the foregoing implies is that good kings are not complacent, they are not self-centred but look out for the welfare of their subjects.

They are also expected to keep their word at all cost. King Herod had John the Baptist beheaded although he didn’t want to do that but because he had sworn to give the daughter of Herodias who danced to entertain him and his guests whatever she asked for (Matthew 14:6-11).

If these high-minded traits are required of earthly kings, how much more those who reign by virtue of being sons and daughters of the King of Kings, the Almighty God, whom justice and righteousness are the foundation of His throne (Psalm 97:2).

3. Affluence: Kings and queens do not lack. Rather, they live in great comfort and dispense wealth to the needy.

Deuteronomy 28:12
“The Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.”

To ensure that we don’t fall short in this dispensation, God made the necessary arrangements through our Saviour, Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 8:9 (NIV)
“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.”

Do not believe the lie that you need to be poor and suffer excruciating hardship to prove your piety. What is wrong is to become conceited and uncaring as a result of our wealth.

Ezekiel 16:49
“Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.”

So, besides not constituting ourselves into a nuisance by begging to meet our needs, wealth helps us to spread the gospel and support the less privileged.

4. Recognition of hierarchy and protocol: Royals are not careless with ceremony. Wherever they appear, people are recognised according to their ranks. They also observe the gradations among themselves as some kings are higher than others. Thus for us, no matter what power we exercise or the heights we attain, we are under the King of kings, Jesus Christ, who has been mandated to rule over all things by God the Father.

Revelation 19:11,13,16
11. And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
13. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
16. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

We are under authority ourselves and that authority comes from the name of our Redeemer, Jesus Christ, by whose blood we have been cleansed from sin and made sons and daughters of the Most High to reign on earth. That name is like our signet ring, it’s the symbol of our authority, it’s what we rule by.

Philippians 2:9-10
9. … God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10. That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

The question is: Do you see yourself as royalty and are you truly living the royal life?
If not, you can start today by acknowledging that this is your inhertance and agreeing with God’s word to make it your reality.
And may it be so in your life and mine henceforth in Jesus’ name.

This post really reminds me of my place in Christ and on earth. To the glory of God, I have always recognized hierarchy, I respect people above me with God as the Ultimate. Also in the area of Nobility, to some extent it has become a part of me. I’m still working on the remaining two, affluence and Power/ Dominion. I pray for more knowledge and grace to get there ?❤❤❤ I love you so much ma. Thanks for this awesome post?.

This post affirms our identity, authority and triumph in Christ as Kings and priests we are. I hope to work in power, dominion and affluence

This post really has a lot of qualities attached to it .but the 3rd point really caught my attention..as children of God,,God has made provision for us on Earth so we don’t have to lack anything whatsoever, for he became poor so that we can attain richness,..true word ma ??

Nice write up and looking closely at point three which got my attention, royalty dont have any connection with lack because they are blessing themselves and cannot beg for anything but rather try to reach to people and are also a blessing to many lives.

“They are also expected to keep their word at all cost.” This part struck me deep. Well said ma

Yes, one mustn’t be poor on earth to be rich in heaven we have an inheritance in Christ which we have discovered, as a royalty I decree a thing and it comes to pass, as I speak systems are changing to go according to my command. Thanks ma for this blessed piece
