I hereby share with you the fruit of my musings yesterday. May you be blessed by it in Jesus’ name. And do share to bless others too.

SOLITUDE (POEM)
–
As the rain pelts the earth and darkness descends
The lonely ones sigh and brace for certain insomnia
Counting of roof tiles, watching the gecko slither by
Crickets chirping, owls hooting, wild cats mewing
Strangely, these provide some comfort
But not enough to ease the agony of solitude
“Would that these would come to Me, their Maker
For I am the Friend that sticks closer than a brother!”

Thanks a bunch, my dear sister! The Lord keeps helping me in this area and it’s just marvellous in my eyes.
Edith I love this poem SO much! I know loneliness to its bones but then again God has grown me to stand with my own feet both physicaly and Spiritualy, so the time in the desert has not been in vain! 🙂
Praise God! He does come through for us no matter how difficult the season we’re in. God’s grace with your ministry and other endeavours.
The only friend who can stay closer than a brother even in difficult situations is no other person than God, the Almighty! We have to trust in Him. A big thanks to you ma.
Many thanks to you too, Benjamin!
Really nice.loneliness really stings hard!… Kudos Ma.
It does, my dear, but the Lord can make it bearable. Shalom!

This poem reminds me that even when I think I have no physical person; God is always here with me. Nice one ma.
Amen. Glory to God!
so much meaning in a short masterpiece like this ..it all still boils down to our Maker who is always there when everyone leaves ..love the writeup.
Praise God! You are lifted, Daniel, in Jesus’ name.
Wow nice poem ma…God is the maker of everything and he is forever there for us
kudos ma, it is a wonderful piece. It kind of reminds me of William Wordsworth’s daffodils. I really love it thanks a bunch
Coming to God for solace is Tue best form of healing and peace. Momatter the situation. He is listening and ever sufficient for us.
Even in time of loneliness.. There’s this friend always that seek to be closer. He is the conforter, he is deliverer, he is christ!
As a matter of fact, anyone without Christ is lonely and vulnerable to the wicked(devil)
We should depend on God, we should rest totally our solace on him. We should always have in mind that God is ever present in our lives even in times of trouble, he is the way maker who makes way for us..
We are meant to understand that HE is the comforter of the downtrodden. I know HE is always there, even in our most difficult moment
Meditation comes to be perfect during solitude. When it pains is if the necessity arises to talk with one else but no one comes. Or when days are sorrowful. It has both pleasant and unpleasant sides. Nice one.
The post is a good one. Solitude stings painfully especially when one is not sure of immediate company. Nothing seems interesting when a feeling of abandonment comes. When I feel too lonely and no body to talk with, I thoughtfully find something to do. Sometimes, solitude gives us opportunity to recollect commune with God in joyful silence.
God is our best friend and comforter in our privacy and being alone. Nikola Tesla said ” Bee alone, that is the secret of invention, Be alone, that is when ideas are born.” But without God “these ideas are not enough to ease the agony of solitude.”
Loneliness is something we don’t want to experience especially that moment when we need the love and presence of our loved ones. However, when we are threatened by it, we should always remember that God is by our side at all times and his company is more rewarding than that of our friends and families.
There are friends that sticks closer than a brother and the greatest of all friends is God. He is a companion at any point of loneliness.
One thing i love about your blog, is that theres always something to learn. Great poem ma.
Only God can fill the space
Loneliness is a very depressing thing, I believe when I have God, I have it all. Like the saying, one with God is majority.
loneliness can be said to be painful but at times it is a golden opportunity to be alone and communicate with god.
Awesome post we definitely need Jesus at every point in our life.
What a wonderful piece MA, there is no lonely moment with God. He is our friend..
I love this poem?
God is our comforter, he is always with us even when we think we are alone.
God bless u ma!
SUCH INTELLIGENT USE OF PERSONIFICATION ONLY TO LEAD US BACK TO THE FATHER’S ARMS, HE’S REALLY THE FRIEND THAT STICKS CLOSER THAN A BROTHER …..BLESS YOU MA
Beautiful poem aunty! I remember those days in primary school when it seemed anytime it rained and the sky darkened I’d get so lonely and sad. I felt I was all by myself in the world, as if I was trapped in an imaginary cocoon, always on a rainy day. I’d say to myself ‘here we go again’ and wait for the terrible feeling to come. I hadn’t many friends, just Boma. I wasn’t so close to God then so i always succumbed to the lonely embrace of solitude each time. That’s why I can relate to this poem so well. Now I know I have a friend in Jesus and I don’t feel so lonely anymore. I love this poem aunty. Thank you.
“Strangely, this provide some comfort but not enough to ease the agony of solitude”. What then can ease this agony? Wholly dependence on God.
Only in Him can we find everlasting Peace, one without agony.
Great Poem! No doubt.
Solitude is sometimes what we need in such a noisy world. I think most of our answers and solutions will come when we’re in solitude. God usually speaks to us in our secret place and that is where he resides.
In our loneliness and solitude, God will always be there, he will be our comforter even in our agony.
Solitude..”the state of being lonely”. Sometimes its necessary anyway. The truth is that we all have times we find ourselves in this state. Sometimes being in a state of solitude doesn’t mean you’re in agony, it might be a period of meditation and concentration.
He is not just a father, he can be a brother too, a sister, a spouse, a helper and a friend…don’t seek solution in man. Tell him your problems when you are down, he will make them go a way, very few people know this….he can be your friend too.
I love this poem. God is always that Friend that sticks closer than a brother!” he provide and shelter us and always come to our rescue whenever we are in trouble. He is our greatest solitude.
“Counting of roof titles” I do that alot when am bored or thinking.Solitutide to me is not loneliness,is a state of peace and self understanding. You understand yourself better when you think about your life and deeds,I believe solitude is a place everyone should visit once in a while.
What I know is that in all my solitude state, Christ is right beside me, holding me close to himself.
Nobody likes loneliness but sometimes we need to be alone to be able to think, meditate and understand ourselves better. This is the good being alone but when we are lonely and sad it can lead to depression and by extension this can lead us to commit suicide which is a sin against GOD so whenever we find ourselves in the negative side of loneliness we should try and run to GOD for rescue.
There is no greater friend than Jesus. He would stand with you through thick and thin if only you believe in him, so we ought to be close to Jesus
As a first hand of solitude I can say its warm, gentle and soft, until you lose sense of communication and human touch. Then slow insanity and void takes shape in the mind. Nice poem. I hope I can grow like this.
Amazing! A short piece with so much to take away, if only we could learn to trace our way back to our maker, because in Him we have great comfort.
Solitude is a sad thing, with no heart to share ones burden. Solitude gives the impression that no one can keep it’s victim safe and minding ones business is the perfect way to be safe hence the withdrawal. It’s takes a lot of effort to be sullen and a lot more to become social again. Matthew 11:28 (KJV) Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
This is one way to fight solitude.
Apart from being social with inorder to fight solitude, the most important is that of one aknowledging his maker and drawing close to Him. As for me, when I remember my relationship with God, I don’t feel lonely.
A wonderful poem, which draws us the need to reconcile and acknowledge our maker and know that we are not alone, and He fights for us if we are in one accord with Him.
Solitude is a time you don’t have any one to talk to. Sometimes it’s caused by pain and regrets. But this poem tells us that during that time it helps us communicate with God. It reminds us that God is our comforter in time of loneliness. It help us to realize that we are not alone that God is always with us. Thanks
Loneliness can be so boring that you find yourself constantly wishing for a companion that will help brighten your day. God is the best person to turn to in such situations because he will be the bestfriend you will ever get and through constant prayers, he will send an earthly companion for you.
Nice poem MA,Sometimes I do have this feeling I am alone, not really sad, just alone. I would always pray afterwards knowing that God is ever faithful
Even in our most quiet place, God is present there. He gives us hope at all times.
This poem jst reveals how in the time unwanted solitude or loneliness the presence of God the maker of all things is constant. I love this poem.
When ever I think of how lonely I am, i just remember that God us always by my side.Isiah 40:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
He grants up peace when we are weighed down and smoothly uses the balm of his presence to fill us with joy. He is indeed a comforter! Beautiful poem. Hoping to be like you!
Solitude is an occurring factor in our lives but during the days of solitude we should reconnect with God because when we feel lonely God replaces it with joy, there is always a way with him when there seems to be no way.
God indeed is closer than we think. He’s a friend who would always keep us company. We are never alone. Even I’m solitude, we have company.
The best way we can reconnect with God is when we are in solitude…..whenever am lonely, I feel that burning fler in me reading my Bible or praying,is the best company……
Solitude stings painfully especially when one is not sure of immediate company. However, when we are threatened by it, we should always remember that God is by our side at all times and his company is more rewarding than that of our friends and families
God is the closest friend and His line is always available and never out of network to those who reach out to Him.
“Would that these would come to Me, their Maker
For I am the Friend that sticks closer than a brother!” mmmmmmmm… So touching… This solitude poem is indeed everything..
We all need that one friend that sticks closer than a brother.
But then, what kind of friend are you, the fair weather friend that suddenly appears with smiles when he needs something ,and disappears like lightning when their is nothing left.. Or a backstabber, that smiles with you but becomes a hater at the back?.. OR A FRIEND THAT STICKS THROUGH THICK AND THING?… I hope your answer will be able to suit your soul, If not, repent!!
“A friend that sticks closer than a brother” that line struck my heart. How marvelous it is to have someone like that. May God continually shower you with words to express your heart.
Loneliness is what we can’t avert, but it takes grace to discover that is the best time to relate with your maker….Amazing one ma.
