Do You Seek To Have More Control Over Your Life

Do You Seek To Have More Control Over Your Life? (Here’s how to)

Sounds contradictory but it’s true. Obeying God gives you more control over your life than living as you please. When you live in obedience to God, you have more grace and wisdom to move forward and confront whatever dares to face you. But when you live as you please, you leave yourself open to diverse manipulations and challenges which might overwhelm you.

Some of us tend to forget how wicked the devil is and that living in disobedience to God does not equal being free. It simply means that you have chosen to serve the devil instead of God and you cannot begin to imagine where that will land you.

A young woman had a job in a small town. The pay was small but the job was in a disciplined and nurturing environment. She got a job in a bigger city and moved. Without the godly ambience in her former work place, she got involved with a married man. The story has it that the wife of the man did something diabolical to her. She came back mad to her former location. Do you know what it means to be insane in these parts? Unable to work and converse intelligently, looking unkempt, carrying a load of rubbish and walking all over town everyday. Before long, this once beautiful girl was looking gaunt and old.

Do You Seek To Have More Control Over Your Life

Every step of disobedience promises fabulous delights and rewards but can plunge one into unimaginable pain and suffering. It can leave you helpless such that you become a burden to your family, friends and brethren.

There are so many needy people in the world today. Wouldn’t you rather have your affairs in hand so that you can help one or more of them from time to time? You can’t do that if you are in a position where the devil is pursuing and pummeling you because you left the coverage of the Almighty through disobedience.

“The LORD says, ‘I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.'” – Psalm 32:8 (NLT)

Every instruction of God is for our own good and obeying them keeps us strong, confident and triumphant. In Deuteronomy 5:29, God expresses a very touching wish:

“O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!” (KJV)

May we not despise that wish but fulfill it every day of our lives in Jesus’ name.

Thanks Ma for this wonderful post. I have come to realize that if one disobeys the Lord, any plan of the wicked against the person will work as in the case of the lady in the story.

Amen! This post is such an important reminder. Disobedience may look free from the outside, but it is not. I will call it the freedom before the doom (the consequences).

Just like the gospel made me note in john10:10 the devil roams to deceive, kill and destroy.

Lord 🤲🙏 strengthen me towards being good.

These very post is trying to let us know that as a Christian you must seek the face of God before making any decisions.
And you must try to be obedient to God words and willing to do the purpose God have for you.

True when you are closer to THE LORD you can easily go to him in prayer asking and talking to him but if you are an unrepentant sinner you can’t face THE LORD and the devil will always remind you of your sins, make you ashamed and unable to talk to OUR GOD, some times he puts thoughts in you that make it seem that your sins can’t be washed away so you can’t even think of repentance there by living in sin with no control or right direction in life.

Amen!. Mummy this is absolutely true because without God in our lives we are so vulnerable to the devil and his agents.

Love and obedience to God comes with a huge control over oneself. You can’t just wake up and do whatever you want and this helps us know when the devil is offering us a Greek gift.

I completely agree that living in obedience to God can give us more control over our lives. It provides us with a strong moral foundation and helps us make better decisions. Moreover, it gives us a sense of purpose and direction, which can be very empowering.
