HAVE YOU BEEN TOLD YOU DON’T HAVE ENOUGH FAITH? Have you also been told that is why your prayers have not been answered?

There are times when children of God seek a solution to their problems and when those solutions aren’t forthcoming, they feel or they are told they don’t have sufficient faith. Whether you’ve been told this by someone else or by yourself, I want to inform you that you don’t need a large measure of faith to get God’s attention. What matters is that you have faith at all.

[bctt tweet=”Don’t beat yourself up or blame your condition on your lack of giant faith.” username=”edithohaja1″]

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” – Hebrews 11:6

Do you believe that God exists and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him? I’m guessing your answer is “Yes.” How do we seek Him to find Him and get these rewards? By accepting Jesus as our Lord and Saviour.

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” – John 14:6

If you’ve met God through Jesus, even faith as small as a mustard seed can bring your miracles. That is what the Lord Jesus tells us in Matthew 17:20.

“… verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.”

But how do we get faith into our hearts to begin with?

In Romans 10:17, we are told that “faith cometh by hearing,” and what do we need to hear? The word of God. As we read and listen to the word of God (the Bible), we see His promises, we see demonstrations of His power in the lives of individuals, groups and nations and we see His nature: His holiness and trustworthiness. All these combine to give us the confidence that what He says He will do. That is the “substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” That is faith. – (Hebrews 11:1)

This is a continuous experience as we walk with the Lord. So our faith will naturally grow. There were occasions when the Lord Jesus described His disciples as being of little faith because they were allowing situations they could control if they exercised their faith to challenge them.

There were four of such occasions:
1. “Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?” – (Matthew 6:30). This is repeated in Luke 12:28.
2. “And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.” – Matthew 8:26
3. “But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?” – Matthew 14:30-31
4. “Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread? Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?” – Matthew 16:8-9

In the first case, the Lord was giving a general admonition on relying on God’s provision, rather than worrying. In the second case, the apostles were afraid of the wind and the waves as was Peter in the third case. The fourth case is similar to the first and the Lord was reminding the disciples of His earlier miraculous provision which should have given them the assurance that they would have food even though they didn’t bring bread.

None of these cases is justification for anybody or yourself to make you feel that you’re not being blessed because your faith is not huge. Remember Jesus’ declaration that even faith the size of a mustard seed can move mountains quoted earlier. So I feel the problem the Lord was pointing to is not so much about the size of the faith but the lack of exercise of it.

[bctt tweet=”Even falth as small as a mustard seed can work miracles. (Matthew 17:20)” username=”edithohaja1″]

However, when a problem persists, you can add fasting ro your prayer. We get that idea from the insight the Lord Jesus gave to His disciples when they were asking why they couldn’t drive out the demon from the boy brought to them by his father in Matthew 17.

“… this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting” – Matthew 17:21.

You can also go to someone in a spiritual office in the body of Christ to pray for you. The Bible is full of instances where the sick and troubled came to prophets in the Old Testament or the Lord Jesus and apostles in the New Testament to get relief.

“14. And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women. 15. Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them. 16. There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.” – Acts 5:14-16

In the Book of Ephesians, we see a list of the spiritual offices in the New Testament church.

“11. And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12. For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ” – Ephesians 4:11-12.

Fill your heart with the word of God, put your trust in Him, fast and seek help when necessary, then leave everything to God. Remember that at the end of the day, it will work out according to His time and His will.

Halleluyah!

Excellent article. Sometimes when you do all these things with no double mindedness, the Lord still will call you Home before your prefect healing comes. His Will is always best. We can trust the OUTCOME of anything we face into His Care.

    • Edith Ohaja

Yes, my sweet sis! Sometimes, we suffer so much anxiety because we want a predetermined outcome. O that we might learn to rest in His will. Much love and blessings to you, dear sis, in Jesus’ name. ❤️

  • Great job? ma. Even if ur faith is like a mustard seed it ‘ll definitely move mountain. Both most times we choose to be thomas, we believe that seeing is real. I pray that God help us with our little faith Amen.

  • Beautiful post Edith! So encouraging. I pray that we all exercise our faith, read the word and put our trust in a God who promised our small faith can move mountains! Amen!!

  • Such a great post. I hate to see Christians discouraged by other believers. This is filled with grace, beginning to end.

  • Ozeme Ikechukwu P.

Faith is the only thing we need because with faith in God, everything is possible.

  • Edith, you know what I love most about this post? It is encouraging and not condemning. You’ve stated clearly that God just wants us to have a little faith to bless us. Instead of judging anyone for struggling with their faith, you only gave tips for increasing it! This is what Jesus would do. Indeed. This brought tears to my eyes, because I struggle when things go wrong. Yet, deep inside I know God is blessing me, and I have to admit that I know just trusting him even more will bring better results! But God IS Faithful to fulfill His promises and bless us even when we doubt. Edith, you’re doing such a good work for the Kingdom of God and His Son Jesus Christ; you are loved! May God bless you in Jesus’ name, and continue to increase your faith in Him! ✝️

  • this article is inspiring Ma. especially where you said God just wants us to exercise our little faith and his blessings flows in our lives. sometimes, when we face problems, we just stay and curse, instead of believing that we can overcome them through the grace of God. am really inspired ma. thanks for the tips.

  • UGWU, CHINAGOROM JOSEPH

Great one, Ma. You are simply taking people to Bible School with your interesting Analysis and Evocative Explanations. The central thing in Christianity, is that one must have faith no matter how little and match up with good works like James said. And Jesus taught us that no matter how small our faith is, even like a mustard seed, we can move mountains.

  • Joseph jennifer Ezinne

According to the book of Hebrews 11 vs 1, faith is the assurance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. You just need to show that you believe, and you’ll have it. Faith has taken many believers to heights they did not expect! People have gotten admission by faith, women have had babies after menopause by faith, so many testimonies all over the world that have happened through faith. Even if it’s as small as that mustard seed, have faith today! You would see the hand of God in your life

  • Joseph Jennifer

Hebrews 11:1 tells us that faith is the assurance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. Faith is that which turns the nonexistent to existent, defies impossibilities and exceeds limitations. We need faith as children of God. We have all the blessings of God,we need faith to claim it. Thank you ma for this wonderful piece

    • Edith Ohaja

Well said, Jennifer! Faith makes things possible. May God fill your heart with faith via His word and help you act on it always in Jesus’ name.

  • Abugu Nkemjika Edith

Faith is all that matters, as long as you have faith that God is able to grant your heart desires then your problem is solved. God sees out hearts, so he knows it all, when we have faith in him or not, but remember that faith works hand in hand with good deeds, thanks a lot ma, for this piece.

  • Analike, Vivian U

    Very encouraging and motivating
in life, all we need is faith both in worshipping God and in doing his will. with faith, we are assured that he is with us, we are assured that he will certainly help us etc. The Bible said (though not quoted exactly) that a good deed or work without faith in it is in vain. Oh God please help us your children in building our faith in you……… Amen

  • ONAH JULIET EZINNE

You must open your hand to receive things and their is no two ways about it, faith, miracle name them, comes to those that believe and in the cost of believing, you have done your part by taking drugs and believe that God will heal you. Come to think of that, even doctor will tell you that their part is to give you drugs but your faith in God will heal you, so my brethrens, let’s follow due process in all our dealing and believe in God because he gave us those doctors to assist us.

  • Ugwu Ifunanya

The Lord demands us to have faith in him always no matter how little, he will see us through, no matter how impossible it seems in our sight. For the scripture says “the just shall live by faith not by sight.

  • Abugu Chinazom

    Nice one ma!
I undeniably learnt alot from this post. It doesn’t matter how much our faith is, as long as we have faith at all, whatever we ask of our creator, he sure will do for us and as long as we pray with sincerity and purity of heart, he’d answer our prayers.
    Thank you for this.

  • ofodile chinenye

this piece is very encouraging. it tells us that even if our faith is as small as a mustard seed we can move mountain. all we have to do is just hope, have faith and believe since all things work together for good to those who fears the lord.

  • Ekpali Joseph Saint

You have really done well ma, by putting up this piece.. Because have heard many people saying, “God, why me, is my faith not ‘big’ enough?” I actually like the encouragement in the first box – ” don’t beat yourself up or blame your condition on lack of giant faith”. But having faith like the mustard seed can save you..
Moreover, the Catechism of the Catholic Church lends credence to this – “faith is believing without doubting whatever God has revealed”. I know i am blessed.

  • EDEH CYNTHIA OLUOMACHI

“For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also” (James 2:26). Faith without work is a dead faith because the lack of work reveals an unchanged life or a spiritually dead heart.
It is important to note that work follows faith. Work is a good diagnostic barometer of where our truth faith lies. Our good works in no way relate to our salvation.

  • Arene Ifeyinwa Ketochukwu

I have learnt from this piece that once I have faith in God, God will honour my prayers. Even if the prayer is not granted,I should not think that I did not have enough faith afterall but I should hold on and know that God has a perfect will for my life.

  • Nnaji Emmanuel chibuike

Very nice article,I sometimes encounter things like this whereby I pray for God to do something for me and when it doesn’t happen I feel that I lack communication with God and my faith is not steadfast but after reading this post i think it’ll help me a lot to be steadfast in prayers and have faith that God can do anything as long as you have a little bit of faith even as small as a mustard seed.

  • Anueyiagu Winifred C.

Thanks much Ma, I’m blessed. This is a very encouraging and motivating write up.

  • Igbokwe Janefrances

Thanks Ma for this inspiring and wonderful piece. Its encouraging and fulfilling, God bless u dearly.

  • Maduabuchi Emmanuel Chidera

If only we can exercise our faith a bit,I believe a lot of things would go easier. Though not also forgetting the principle of faith and work, the best results arises when they are both applied.

  • chinenye nwokoye

Faith in the finished work of God makes what we hope for come through. God is always there for his children for he loves them. Faith has worked beyond imagination for the past years and continues to work.
Nice write up ma. May God keep on blessing you.

  • Egbe Ebere Blessing

I need faith to do in this our ‘upcoming exams’ . God, as I put in effort reading and doing my assignments, I believe to excel excellently with you on my side. Amen.

  • Okonkwo chidimma benita

While communicating with God, you need your faith to be as strong as possible. With faith, all things are possible. And it is the assurance of things hoped for. This article is very inspiring ma. God bless!

  • Ukamaka Ukaegbu Mirabel

How wonderful are the works that the Lord is fulfilling through you ma, it is high time we start seeing God as a father and allow him have his way. And his way can only come to pass in our lives through the exercising of our faith in him.

  • Chigbo God'spromise E

You don’t need all the faith in the world for your prayers to be answered. The bible said, have faith, even as little as a mustard seed and your prayers will be answered. God knows that, we are of little faith, which made him to reassure us that even a little faith can do wonders.

  • Akogu Juliet Aniema

Oh ye men of little faith…this caught my attention… I always thought that this sentence means that we don’t really have much faith. But this article has really enlightened me on this word called FAITH…its not about having little of it but having the ability to exercise it a little can go a long way. Thanks, ma’am Edith.

  • Ugwoke Onyinyechi Sylvia

Sometimes our prayers not being answered is because it is not the right time. God is a faithful God, true to his word. It all depends on how patient we are to wait for God’s time. Thank you, ma.

  • Nweke Jemimah Chisom

Faith to me, is a big word. Alot easier to preach and difficult to practice. Recent occurence in my life have actually boosted my faith, even though often times its difficult to have faith when you see that things are going in a way u never expected but i always tell myself, He is God! He has a way of bringing good music out of a broken cord.

  • osuagwuchiamaka

Thank you ma for this wonderful piece. Although I have not been told, but I have felt that i don’t faith enough, or ‘too spiritual’ enough. the devil just used this thought to make me feel dejected, or feel like I am not meeting up to God’s standard.

  • ALEGU SOLOMON CHIDI

Indeed! It is impossible to please God without faith. This is to tell us how as important as faith in the lives of Christians. Faith according to the book of Hebrews, is the substance of what we hoped for and the evidence of what is not seen. Faith is very important in our lives because it often times, serves as a weapon we use in challenging the devil. God bless Aunty Edith Ohaja, Amen.

  • ISRAEL CHINWE GOODNESS

Well said ma, all we really need in our work with God is Faith. it is that faith in Him that will spur us to give him our full services. Despite that the storm may be raging, with the little faith we have in Him, we can be rest assured that he will say peace be still to every situation that confronts us as His children. God bless you Aunty Edith for the powerful messages you always release am most blessed by them.

  • Eze Chinyere

Having faith is very important as Christians, no matter how little. We can also improve our faith by listening to God’s word and hearing the miracles he has performed in people’s lives. It was nice learning that with the little faith we have, we can receive blessings from God’s hands. What really matters is if we exercise this little faith we have. Thanks for sharing this piece ma.

  • Nathalie Ukwu

Rightly said. Faith comes from within and no matter what, God always has a plan for us. The fact that we might not have seen results yet just means that God has selected the best time for us! The book of Hebrews says this well. Through fasting and prayer we can boost our faith greatly and have reassurance.

  • Oleru Precious

I feel this piece is talking directly to me. God bless you Ma.

  • Ezenwa Obinna G.

This is really a wonderful piece. Faith is always misunderstood in this concept but i thank God for the way he used you to explain this phenomenon better. thank you Aunty Edith.

  • onyeabor ijeoma Rita

if we believe, we will receive but the first step to believing is having faith in God no matter how small, the woman with the issue of blood did not struggle to hard to get healed, she just had the faith that she will be healed just by touching his garment and it worked for her. so shall it be for each and every one of us who have faith in God for a breakthrough

  • Ike Faustina Uchechukwu

Faith comes from inside, our relationship with God should be personal, once we study his words and trust in him, believe in him, accept him as our personal lord and saviour we can move mountain.

  • peace onoja

lord please increase our faith daily. let our lives define your mercies and love. amen

  • EKWUEME VICTOR OBIORA

God meets our need in his riches and glory at the due time. this was why a preacher quoted that to Christians every disappointment is a blessing. just have faith and wait for double portion of what you asked. He is the answer of all prayers and he knows your need more than every other person.

  • okereke chukwuemeka matthew

Faith is simply faith. The only thing that makes faith small or even null is when there are elements of doubt in the midst of that faith. Faith is like a baby; a baby is not born as a full man rather, he grows from one stage to another in order to reach his full potential. For this baby to grow, he/she needs to be fed and raised in a conducive environment in order to grow effectively. Same with faith; our faith needs to be nurtured in our mind which should be free from doubt and the tool of its nurturing is the word of God and all the promises it holds for us all as Christians. Well done Ma!

  • Akabuike Chisom

What is prayer without faith, faith can’t be seen to me it’s a thing of having the feeling that every prayer been tabled before the most high would be answered ,faith moves mountains and goes beyond just praying. God bless you Ma

  • Faith in its smallest amount is just as powerful. The key word is to ‘Believe ‘ in the word of God, in the fulfillment of his promises and pray that his will be done. Even if it is not similar to ours. A friend once told me that ‘God is angry with the world’ I did not hesitate to rebuke him with the promises from God to us in the Bible. Christians must remain unshakable in their faith which is not necessarily too small nor too big. I learnt a lot from this very post, ma.

  • Thank God for this wonderful post. I learnt a lot! ?

  • keswet mercy

Wit faith you can move mountains i strongly believe. As students i know there might be a time when you are faced with struggles academically or elsewhere, probably there is a course everyone finds difficult to pass, this i believe is a test of faith, if you have the little faith in your self as God directs, success is yours.

  • Maduabuchi Ebube Deborah

Varily I say unto you,if ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed,ye shall say unto the mountain remove hence to yonder place, and it shall remove and nothing shall be impossible unto you……

Faith is a very powerful instrument in prayer….sometimes our prayers dnt used to be answered because we always have double mind if wat we are asking God can be fulfilled for us……sometimes God used to test us to know if we really believe in his ability nd capability….we can use job as an example but after everything job still trusted in him and God bless him more than he did before…..faith is important in our spiritual life

  • Okereafor, Cynthia Uchechi

Some people measure people’s faith by level of physical prosperity the person has achieved. If not very well, for me, you have no faith or you have little faith. In other words, if you dont get good grades, for instance, you either have little or no faith. I dont accept the standard some people use in measuring the presence or absence of faith. Like the post says,”….you don’t need a large measure of faith to get God’s attention. What matters is that you have faith at all”. A lot of People need to hear from you, Aunty. Thank you, Ma.

  • Njoku Chioma Grace

I really love this part, Ma “…I want to inform you that you don’t need a large measure of faith to get God’s attention. What matters is that you have faith at all”. it reminds me of what Jesus told His disciples that even if their faith is as tiny as a mustard seed, they can still yield positive results. the truth is that if we dont believe and learn to trust in God’s word nor in His son, Jesus, then we can never have faith in His ability to help us in challenging situations.

  • Osere Theresa

I’ve once been convinced by myself that I have faith in God and with him I can do all things through his strength, little did I know that there are levels of faith, I tried helping a friend to come out of something but I was tempted and I did the thing that I was trying to talk a friend out from doing, I felt so embarrassed and my faith was belittled, but thank God for the constant messages I started listening to, and a better understanding of his word…

  • Ugwu Amarachi Chinemerem

Some times i get scared but then again work without faith is nothing and vi-vasa, people’s faith cannot be measured by how much they pray or fast, you can pray all day but when you doubt the possibilities of God’s miracle, its never gonna happen, ones faith can move mountains, its that powerful

  • Valeria Ogide

Faith as little as a mustard seed can move mountains. Thanks for the uplifting and encouraging words MA.

  • Onuoha oluebube Jessica

lord please increase our faith daily. let our lives define your mercies and love. amen

  • Godwin Maxwell

    Faith moves God into Action.
Sometimes I feel like I have be rejected and some friends who feel that they are righteous will condemn me.
But whenever I seek him diligently, he will always answer.
Thanks for this message of reassurance.

  • Ifebe June sobechukwu

I want to add that faith doesn’t work alone. As a Christian we need both faith and work together so our faith can be justified. An example is this, a sick person who has faith is not supposed to lie down on the bed hoping that a miracle would come to him. He should rather go to the hospital and begin his hopes there. This is what I believe.

  • Joseph Edidiong

Wow. Beautiful post. Thank you ma. Faith is all we need to move mountains, to pull down walls. This is do timely

  • Sandra Oweka

Don’t let your faith waver. Trust in God completely. A miracle is on the way.

  • Chigbo ifeanyi James

Faith even as small as mustard seed can move mountains said the Lord. You don’t have to have the biggest faith in God. Just pray and believe that he controls everything in our lives. Don’t have a double mind when dealing with God

  • Ibute kosisochukwu nina

People v always told me dat I don’t v enough faith… And I sometimes start to think that it z d truth because any time I ask God for something I will always want God to do it immediately… But now I understand dat Gods time z d best… Thanks for dis interesting piece ma.

  • Nkiru Amaechina

Thank you ma for this wonderful post. It is so easy to forget God’s presence and power when we face uncertain and difficult times in our life . Our faith falters and we doubt that God is with us. May we be encouraged to see God move through all circumstances in life to grow our faith in HIM.

  • Lawrence Ernest Enyi

sincerely, that have been the statement most belivers have to face with when things are not working out the way they expected. belivers should desist from such conclution as their are many factors which can make ones prayer to be delayed or not answered at all. i agree with you ma, a little faith is enough to make things happen.

  • ohakwe oluchi judith

I love this post so much because it teaches and encourages us that the little faith we have is OK with God, we don’t need to have all the faith in the universe before God can answers our prayers….

  • Chika Divine Umunnakwe

Yes, Have been told by a friend that I lack faith; faith that gets things before I actually see/ receive what i need but noit told my prayers are not answered because of my little faith.
Thanks ma, for this great topic you have written about. i am blessed by this piece as i have learned that my faith as little as mustard is capable and great. The source of my faith can come from my constant hearing of the word of God and my heart relating with the word to depict my physical action and character is that kind of faith needed. God can answer my prayers and needs even with my little faith like that of a mustard.

  • Ani Chiamaka Theresa

Bless u ma….just wit a little faith as small as mustard seed, you can move mountain.. I believe in this and earnestly pray that our heart be filled wit the word of God, we will seek his face always, pray, fast and hope for he will answer our prayers

  • Akpan Agnes

Wow what an inspiring article. My prayer is that God keeps increasing my faith even in the face of distress

  • onyema chinonyelum cynthia

most times we feel so discouraged, but the fact that God has not answered us yet only means He is planning something good for us. Besides, faith is a thing of the heart and we shouldn’t let others make us feel we are not putting in our best as long as we are on the right track with God and believe in Him totally.

  • Aneke Modesta Chinemerem

This part got me most, Romans 10.17,”faith cometh by hearing”and what do we need to hear? The word of God. Actually some people lack faith simply because they don’t read nor hear word of God. It is the word of God that strengthens our faith thereby removing that desperate and hopeless spirit that always control our inner self.

  • onyema bright

we christains we are guity of this we assume faith to be a spiritual gift specifically meant for men of God with high spiritual muscles(pastors/bishops etc) but in the right sense faith is a gift that has been given to all men no matter your spiritual hight .infact we unknowingly practise the act of faith each day of our life. if i may ask what assures us that we are going to see the light of a new day each time we go to bed ?that is simple faith in practise so our prayers not been answered when and how we wished it were to be answered doesn’t mean we have no faith nope it simply means God is preserving your miracle for the perfect time cos all things worketh for good for all who trust him.

  • Odiase Erico Osazee

The post is encouraging, what we Christians need to understand is that, when our prayer is not answered, do not mean that Christ is far away from US or we does not have faith. At that moment he(God) is trying to teach us patience, endurances and steadfast.

  • itodo mary

faith is believing even when physically there seems to be no difference. we tend to judge effects of our prayers based on the speed at which that change is happening. Nice one ma for reminding us of the need of faith in our lives

  • ONONYE CHISOM DIVINEGIFT

Thank you ma for this great teaching on faith.I believe that even if my faith is as small as a mustard seed my desires will be answered.

  • DIM CHIKODIRI VIVIAN

I believe in the word of GOD and I have faith in him because i know without him I am nothing in this life. Without GOD I wonder what will become of me.Whenever I have problem, especially when am broke, I always believe in the ALMIGHTY because he is the only one that can do it. I have faith in the MOST HIGH GOD. In every situation, i believe that HE has a better plan for me.

  • Eze emmanuel friday

Faith every christian especially born again Christians should posses. In good and in bad we should never loose faith in that God that created us, the one who made us what we are today. No amount of faith is too big or small to save us anytime.

  • Ikebuaku Ezinwanne K

Faith is the currency any man that must travel far with God must have in his spiritual bank.We must also take cognizance of the fact that our faith must be back up with work

  • MOKOGWU JOSEPHINE

I Agree with you ma, faith is very important to every Christian, most persons have given up not knowing that God is there for them watching and all the trials they are facing is just nothing compared to God’s work in their life

  • MONYE GIFT ONYINYE

Thank you ma for this wonderful teaching on faith, you simplified my problem concerning this issue because often a times i feel my faith is not just enough to cause God to work miracles in my life but you’ve made me to understand that i don’t need a a big lorry or buldozer of faith to attract God’s blessing but if only i could have a mustard seed of faith his favours will always shine on us.

Faith is our believe in word of God into applicable form. It teaches us to make the invisible visible. Faith is a bond we have to the outer world that enables to make the unseen seen. It helps our inner mind to command miracles through the level of our faith in God. It takes practice and constant reading of the word of God to build our faith. It is hard for one to practice faith but with the word of God every thing that seems impossible becomes possible through the holy spirit of faith.. I pray for God to give me faith. I need the holy spirit to help me believe in faith.

  • Akumambila ijeoma Winifred

Faith is essential in the life of a Christan. We need to hear the word of God constantly to enable our faith grow. Thanks ma’am.

  • ONUOHA DIANA

THE FIRST TIME I SAW A MUSTARD SEED, I WAS SURPRISED. IT WAS SO SMALL THAT IT COULD NEVER BE FOUND IN THE SAND IF IT FELL. THAT MEANS THAT THE FAITH GOD REQUIRES FROM US IS SMALL IN SPITE OF OUR CHALLENGES. IF WE ARE SURE OF WHAT GOD CAN DO THEN WE CAN SAFELY PRAY AND BELIEVE THAT IT IS DONE.

  • Anowi chisom

faith is the foundation of our Christianity. faith is what keeps us going as Christians and believers. we Christians build our faith by reading God’s word and being conscious of what he promised us in the bible. And the surprising thing is that he doesn’t need much from us, he just need us to have the size of a mustard piece. God bless u ma…..

  • onyeama obianuju Queendaline

Though we may be anxious and worried, we should just know God’s got it. We should j just be rest assureed and backed up by faith.

  • Lovely post ma!!! So encouraging… We all should learn to have faith in God cos without faith we can not get anything from Him definitely!!!

  • caius precious chinwendu

Rely on God and put your trust in Him at all times. … verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.” He said even as little as a mustard seed. He has everything mapped out for you. Less worry, more trust.

  • Ngwu Cosmas Chinonso

Faith is a great virtue that is essential in our relationship with God. Without faith we cannot conceive God as the All-powerful being who can answer our prayers. Faith motivates us to pray because we can only make a request to a person whom we believe he or she can grant such request to us. The problem most people normally have is that they are always doubtful of the efficacy of their prayers especially in the midst of mighty challenges. Because we underestimate our prayers, we run from one prayer house to another, from one witch doctor to another and from one cult group to another. We don’t normally have faith in God or in the power of our prayers. May God help us to increase our faith in Him even in the midst of challenges.

  • udeh blessing

is not all about the level of your faith, just have faith and pray because he bible said in james5;15, and the pray offered in faith will make the sick person well.is not all about faith ,the bible says that faith and action work together and faith is made complete by what we do. we can build up our faith by reading the word of God and backing it up with prayer.

  • Ekwuru Jil

What a great post. I hate it when Christians are discouraged by other believers. This is filled with grace, beginning to end.

  • Vanessa Ezenwafor

Faith that moves mountain, what Christians should have. We should get this faith by reading God’s word and believing that his plans for us are for good and not evil.
I believe we all need the Holy Spirit and of course grace, to have faith in the powers of God

  • ONYEABOR PRECIOUS

Trust in the Lord and in the power of his might. Let not your heart be weary, Trust in him for without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him

  • EZENWA CHINENYE EVANGELINE

Having faith as little as mustard seed we have been told can move mountains. Faith is a great virtue every christian should possess. The ability of you believing in Gods word can be obtained by reading the Bible and this should be backed up with work for faith without work is nothing.

  • OMEGO BONAVENTURE CHIGOZIE

many days and years of prayer, so many days of fasting without faith is nothing, it is said that our faith can move mountains, one sure way to serve God is to have faith in him and what he can do

  • Kalu Miracle Ama

” I don’t need a large measure of faith to get God’s attention”. All I need is to give my life to Christ and obey him. The reason why some of us misbehave is because of the misinterpretations some preachers give to the Bible. We should not always depend on what they say, reading your Bible on your own and asking God for interpretation will help us serve him better.

  • Reuben Empere

Believe, speak it into existence by the power of God ,and watch it manifest before you. Faith moves mountains

  • At times we will not believe in ourselves the reason is that when case arises we start to fall apart not remembering that people words are not like Lord’s own. Our faith are not to be measure by any human being rather by God. My prayer is not answered is within my course of my action not people to interfere over it. But at least we need to build our faith doing what God want and praying and reading our bible daily to escape from evil or unconditional issues. I like this article very well. Thank u MA.

  • Attih Faith Etim

According to the bible, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. The word of God is strong and powerful and has the ability of infusing faith in us. To ignite your faith as individuals we should constantly eat and digest the word of God.

  • Onah chiamaka Geraldine

Someone I know always tells me that prayer is the key to most things but if your faith can’t back it up then it is useless.Faith is the key and most things happen in life once you’ve the faith and believe that it’ll work out

  • Ugwuoke Kenneth Ekene

Christian believers really suffer in the hands of unbelievers. They are mocked; they are made jest of. But only those withstrong faith would see to the end of any tribulation

  • Chikwado Ezeh

Faith is the assurance of things not seen; the apostle, James made us understand that faith without work is useless. This has formed the weakness of most Christians today: we believe in our hearts, we hope and depend on God for miracles, yet we don’t pray well enough for God to hear our pleas. An Igbo adage says “onu a koro onye uwa…” ToChristians undergoing such tribulation of facing the mockery tongue of the world for not having enough faith, I advice, fasten on seat-belt. Know your creator and what you want from him; relate well with Him through prayer and try as much as possible to avoid that which offends Him. Do not let anything tamper with your faith in Him.

  • Alexis Okoye

Having faith in God is very necessary in life. With faith one can move mountains. This message is intriguing.God bless u for this message.

  • uzoma chidera

God said even if your faith is like a mustard seed it will move mountains, no matter how small your faith is it can go a very long way in running your salvation in God.

  • Nice post ma. I pray God that l never give up. Just a little faith and our prayers are answered. I pray that l continue to grow in his faith and righteousness

  • Udeobasi Ngozi B.

With faith, we move mountains. faith is total submission to the will of God, it means trusting God in all we do and giving him our all knowing that he can never deceive or fail us. Faith makes us to do unimaginable things that may look stupid in the eyes of the world. In the case of the woman with the issue of blood; how stupid it sounds to think that an age-long sickness would be healed by mere touching the dress of a strange man. it sounds stupid; yes, but it was faith and nothing but faith that moved her to take that bold and crazy step. and yeah, her faith saved her.
Things can go wrong in life to the extent that nothing can be done by mortal man to remedy such situations. but faith helps us to persevere and trust that God can still do something that seems impossible.
we should always pray to God to increase and multiply our faith in him as faith is one of those things that makes us true christians

  • Chidinma Obasi

its important to know that there must be an atom of doubt in every faith less its no longer faith. though Jesus said in Luke 19:16.. if our faith should be as small as a mustard seed…faith can not be measured if small or big. faith is faith some of the things that hinders our prayer is that we pray with unbelieving hearts and we pray once and forgetting that even JESUS In mark 14:32-41 prayed a particular prayer three times. we should pray constantly and never stop believing

  • Ujevwe Emmanuel

Just because we haven’t gotten an answer doesn’t mean you have no faith timing at that moment might not be right. We should just know that he knows best and make sure our faith never shake due to suggestions people make.

  • Gerald

LIFE IS BLEAK, BORING AND NOT WORTH LIVING WITHOUT FAITH AND HOPE. I CONSIDER THIS TO BE CARDINAL VIRTUES

  • Bright

It is not in the height or weight of the situation, rather in the tiny measure of faith. Faith provokes God, because you tell him you believe in His omni potency and He surely would step in His glory.

  • Oleighibe Oluebube Tessy

It is funny that a Christian would tell another Christian, who is facing some difficulties that, he or she do not have enough faith…
It makes me ask; is faith measured?
Thanks to this post, which have clarified the issue of having faith…
“I want to inform you that you don’t need a large measure of faith to get God’s attention. What matters is that you have faith at all”.
Thank you ma, for this wonderful piece. God bless you!

  • Otti Augusta Uzoma

Indeed faith as little as a mustard seed is enough to attract God’s attention. Our little act of faith is enough to attract God’s favour, it will be nice if we encourage ourselves no matter the situation, that God is able to attend to our needs. He just needs our permission (faith) to work for us.

  • Joshua igwe

Faith a substance of things Hoped for and an evidence of thing not seen, brings our prayers into play as even if faith be as a mustered seed it can move mountains so having faith is power itself than having none trusting and depending on our faith in God brings God’s fulfilment of his promises ma am blessed by this piece

  • Agu Ginika R

Ma, you are always drawing us to God’s words and reflection through your posts. Indeed faith is essential in the lives of Christians. If our faith can be as small as mustard seed, it can move mountains and make our contact or relationship with God mutual.
As Christians, we need faith when communicating with God. No matter the situation we face as Christians, God expects us or is urging us to have even if it is a little faith that things will surely get better because some Christians not withstanding their level of spirituality still lack faith, they doubt if God can still answer their prayers.
    Well done Ma.

  • Obidigbo Ifunanya Nino

If you’ve met God through Jesus, even faith as small as a mustard seed can bring your miracles. That is what the Lord Jesus tells us in Matthew 17:20. this portion of the post is one of my favorite passage in the bible. we should learn to have faith and hope in God, because they work together. prayers with out faith, is just like put water on the stove to get hot without fire, faith is the fire in our prayers and we should ask God to give us the grace to have faith, hope and trust in Him. This post is a most read for everyone.

  • Dike Gerald Osinachi

The word of God nurtures our faith in Him. His words establish us in God’s confidence. His word is life. Just a little faith doubtlessly expressed to God moves Him to answer us. Doubt should not mingle with our faith. Sometimes, God looks at us to see if we really trust him in some situations. We need not be doubtful. Little faith is enough to move Him

  • Onwusonye promise

God counts on our faith to assess how we trust His power. No one should be deceived that he or she does not have faith. One’s faith made the person become a Christian. The faith just need to be expressed. For faith without works is dead

  • Adonu Ifeanyichukwu B

Thanks for the insight ma. Little faith can move mountain but the problem is how many Christians still have such faith. My prayer is that God helps us to develop our faith by meditating on his word daily through the Bible.

  • Ezeh Blessing

I believe that faith even so small or little can do wonders. There’s no such thing as a little faith. It’s either you have it or you don’t. God answers prayers at the perfect moments. It’s not because we don’t have ‘enough faith’. Hearing his voice and accepting his timing is all we need to do. Wonderful post ma

  • Ogbonnaya Noble Comfort

Great one! Just a little faith needed for God to move mountains in our lives.

  • Maduabuchi Emmanuel Chidera

Just a little faith can move situations,I am a living testimony to this. What my eyes can’t see I still believe this enables my faith to grow daily.

  • Annabelle Orji

Some people just enjoy belittling other people’s Christian life, either they tell you that your prayer is not enough or that you can’t speak in tongues well. But I enjoyed this, I learnt that having faith is one thing, then believing in the faith you have is another. And also faith plus action (prayers and fasting) goes a long way.

  • Akuma Victor

People say that a lot, not counting myself off though. but this post has really enlightened me. Now I know there’s no such thing as large faith to match with God’s standard before he answers us. Thanks ma’am

  • Ezeorah Cynthia Somtochukwu

Faith is not something we are born with nor is it gotten out of our diligence, it is a gift from God which we are worthy to have. Faith is given to us by God, along with His grace and mercy, according to His holy plan and purpose. The question is do you need to get more faith? no. Instead, you need to have enough faith learn how to steward the faith you have already received.

  • Ayigbo Chineme Edna

To be frank , I have been asked told that I don’t have faith. But thanks to this post that reminded me of the scripture that says even though our faith is as tiny as a mustard seed, it will move mountains. And also that if we have little faith when we pray, God will answer our prayers. Thank you ma for this post.

  • Akaniru Chioma Theodora

A lot of people have been asking me, but now I understand that our faith was given to us by God. No matter how little one’s faith might be, its still faith because there’s nothing like small or big faith.

  • Gerald

I think this post was made for me.
There have been countless situations when I felt God needed me to exhibit or rather possess an enormous measure of faith before the answers to my prayers could be granted.
I’m grateful that you debunked this belief ma.
    Enlightening!

  • ABONYI CHISOM .E.

Even if the faith you have in God is tiny as a mustard seed it can move mountains. by faith we believe that God exist and he is always with us, just believe in God and be strong in any situation we find ourselves just know that God is aware of it and that he will take charge.

  • Nnorom wisdom

It’s not about not having faith, you ask yourself-why doesn’t jehovah answer my prayers? Dont despair, remember the example of job, sarah, and paul.
Job didnt understand why he was facing so much pain but he still maintain his loyalty and faith in jehovah that even though jehovah doesnt take away his problem, he would be resurrected in the last days.
Sarah was promised a child long before she was 90 but it wasnt until she clocked that age that her prayers were answered.
So, when our prayers seem not to be working, we musnt give up but obey the bible’s counsel to persevere in prayer.

  • Nwabuike Onyinyechi

Yeah I’ve been told that my faith is not enough for my prayers to be answered. As the scripture says if you have faith as little as a mustard, you will tell the mountain to move and it will, the same works with our prayers. Lovely piece; Kudos ma.

  • Agugbua Miriam Chisom

As Christians we should have faith in God. Most times we think we have faith but what we have isn’t faith. It is important to pray to God for salvation in order to have faith and also be strong in our faith.

  • Iroegbu Chinatu Amara

Our faith must not be as great as a mountain. Even a faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains.

  • Kalu Divine ogechi

I believe that faith has levels and stages so as far as you are a Christian who is serving God rightly and has faith whether little or big, you can still command things to happen so we should not just take people’s criticism to heart and let them form the basis of our relationship with God, it is an individual race between you and your God..and when you apply faith overtime you will grow into another level.

  • Sunday Ezekwesiri Daniel

Faith in God the push up to our blessings. Faith is believing positively even when you have not known the end result. Your last paragraph in the intro says that we do not need a large measure of faith to get God’s attention. All that matters is that we have faith at all. And that is the fact relating it with the scripture in matt17:20. Bless u ma for this wonderful article.

  • Unwana Ekere

Faith is the greatest warrior of answered prayers, even tho as little as what we can imagine, the most important thing there is that we trust and believe that it will be work..
It is also applicable to the saying that states “faith without work is dead” In reverse, “Work without faith is dead”. So as christians we should always dwell on faith no matter how little it is, it can still move mountains.

  • Edet Elijah

Allowing words to hinder your faith is not a good thing. Even if your faith is as small as a mustard seed it can still do mighty things. Don’t forget that God is the worker of all things and that little faith we have can work things out for us.

  • Theresa

Wow!! And the basic “but faith cometh by hearing and by hearing of the word of God”, how can you produce or look for something or even try to manifest it without having a knowledge about it? Its the constant study and seeking God that builds ones faith in him… You jus need a faith as little as that of a mustard seed and you shall move mountains… Ma, you always seem to draw us back to God and have a sober reflection..
    Tanx Ma’am for this

  • Essien Anietie Archibong

Inspiring article Ma, i love the part where you said God just wants us to exercise our little faith and his blessings flows in our lives. sometimes, when we face difficulties, instead of believing we give. up or start cursing.we can overcome every problem through the grace of God. am really inspired ma. thank you so much!

  • Ugochukwu ukamaka Alice

Faith is the assurance of things hoped for or things not seen;so before we prayer we should have it in mind that the prayer has been answered by God.we have to believe in our faith and work towards it.

  • Levi ifeanyi

As a Christian, all you need to do is to preserve because, God may delay sometimes to know the amount of Faith you have in him. Therefore, do the required things you suppose to do as a Christian and leave the rest for God. His time is the best.

  • Ugwuaneke Grace U.

I am inspired ma,it is faith that speaks for us through the mercy of God.In my problems I have learnt to hold God by his words through reading of my bible, there is nothing the lord cannot do,all power belongs to him,it is left for us to trust in him and all our problems will be a thing of the past.

  • We have to trust in God with all our heart but that doesn’t mean it’ll require an ocean of faith for our prayers to he answered. Faith just like a mustard seed is all that’s required.

  • Chisomebi Iroezindu

Nice one ma. I used to think i neede a full drum of faith to obtain things. But He said ” faith as a mustard seed”

  • Sefiya

If you want an answer to prayer, then you must ask in faith without any doubting.Pray without doubting.
sometimes, my prayers are often mixed with doubts, especially when I’m praying for “big” things, miraculous things. I think I qualify as “double-minded ” I believe, and yet I don’t. In which case, according to James, I should not expect to “receive anything from the Lord.”

  • Njoku Chineme Evelyn

Faith is the requirement every believer should have and this is by believing God through our lord Jesus Christ . As small as our faith can be, it can do a lot . All we need do is to believe and all things will work out for good at their appropriate time

  • OGBOBI BLESSING OJONOMA

Be not faithless but believing is one thing have learnt in God’s word, When you ask, don’t doubt because He said his hands is not short that he cannot reach out to you nor His ear. Have faith always.

  • Nnaukwu Emeka John

I thank God that this post is here to address some issues bothering on lack of faith in God. It our duty to take every necessary steps in believing that God answers our prayer at all times. Even if it seems not forthcoming, we should keep believing and trusting in Him. Let nobody deceive you to believe that it is because you lack faith that is the reason your testimony is not manifesting.

  • Thank you Aunty Edith. It seems this piece was made for me. God bless you for finally letting me realize that faith even as little as a mustard seed can cause miracles instead of thinking I don’t have enough faith.

  • Onah Joy Chimdalu

No matter how little our Faith seems to appear, it works miracle, so long as we don’t give up

  • Ndiwe Vivian

Faith is indeed the power to move mountains. I get apprehensive when I see or hear religious leaders chide their followers for not having enough faith. It leaves me with the thought that they haven’t been studying their bibles. God accepts your faith and does not measure it.

  • Oshana Oyaku Endurance

God don’t need us to have faith as big as a mountains, even if our faith is as small as a mustard seed we can say to any mountain in our life ‘be removed”, and it will be removed. Just out little Faith, moves God.

  • Ezema onyekachukwu Gideon

Yes, I have been told that lack of faith was the reason why my prayers are not yet answered but I end up telling them that the fact that my prayers are yet unanswered now does not imply it’s complete neglect .I blv no prayer is a waste; the answer is either now or later. It is on this basis that I tell people that though the Bible emphasize faith as a requisite for our prayers to be answered, there is more to prayer and prayer answer other than faith like patience. While exercising faith, there’s need for us to be patient with God. In our patience ,there is need to mentain a determined consistency and not fluctuate between faith and doubt….. God is a miracle working God not a magic working God

  • Ibe Arinzechukwu Christian

This post is very encouraging. As Christians we need faith in our dealings with God. Without faith it’s impossible to please God. No matter how small it may be. Thank you ma’am. God uplift you.

  • Richards Orighomisan

Faith is faith, no matter how little it is, whether it’s as small as a mustard seed, God can still work with it.

  • Ejiofor Emmanuel

Christians should not discouraged by other people’s faith. An atom of faith can do wonders, just have faith
