Make Worshipping God Your Priority No Matter Your Needs

Make Worshipping God Your Priority No Matter Your Needs

Many times we feel overwhelmed by our needs and pray so desperately and incessantly about them that we lose our joy and the essence of our relationship with God. Rather than do that, make worshipping God your priority no matter your needs.

We were created to love and worship God. His blessings, His answering our prayers and meeting our needs naturally flow from that. Heck, He evens blesses those who don’t acknowledge Him as He does with the sun, the rain and other elements.

When we lack this understanding or feel so pressed that we forget this, we put the cart before the horse. It’s like we are saying, “Until I’m healed, until my bills are paid, etc., I will only talk to God about them.”

But in doing this, we’re hurting God and cheating ourselves. God longs for our company. He wants to hear our petitions but more than that, He yearns for our praise and declarations of love for Him.

My brother, my sister, it’s the relationship that counts. Once I was praying so hard for something and my friend told me to give it a rest because it was preventing me from enjoying worship and my entire fellowship with the Lord. I realised she was right and took her advice.

Gritting my teeth and praying day and night wasn’t improving the situation I was praying about. It was only making me frustrated and miserable.

Always remember that God is faithful and He longs to bless you more than you want to be blessed. In fact, He loves you more than you could ever love yourself.

Just give priority to worshipping and glorifying Him. Ask Him for what you need in the process but do that with the confidence that He hears you. And submit to His timing thereafter, knowing that He will bless you in His perfect time.

  • Ozioko Glory Oluchi

Human being cannot be separated from needs. It is in the nature of man to be in need of at least a particular thing at a particular time. Sadly, Satan always take advantage of this fact to distract and discourage man from having fellowship with God, especially, when it seems like God doesn’t want to answer his (man) prayers. It is just one of his (Satan) strategies. Thank God, the believers are not ignorant of the devil’s devices.

I learnt that God loves to bless me even more than I want to be blessed. Also, God yearns for my praise and declaration of love for him despite my needs.

This post is a reminder that in a much as God is interested in meeting our needs, He is passionate about having a constant fellowship with us and we must not deny him of it.

  • Okolie-Ekwuazi Zutem Nonyelum

I really learnt a lot from this write up, i get what I’ve been doing wrong no wonder my relationship with God has been strained because I’ve put my priority in only asking God to solve my problem than drawing closer to him. Thanks a lot ma for this lesson.

  • Peace Agada

“We were created to praise and worship God”
This is our sole purpose here on Earth, the life of praise and worship is a lifestyle that never goes out of time and context.
No matter the situation we find ourselves we should always endeavour to praise our Father in heaven. He alone knows out needs and will grant them unto us accordingly, the bible describes him as a friend that is closer than a brother. God is truly our everything.

  • Summer Izuagba

  • Akalugwu Ruth Chigozie

We are made to understand that we should worship God even in the midst of everything; despite all odds and in every situation we find ourselves.

This is making us to understand that our most Redding need should not just move us into desperately praying but also worshipping him.

  • Chimdalu Onah

Thank you ma for this piece. We shouldn’t only turn to God when we are in need, that’s not true devotion.

  • Ekeh Rosemary

There’s a yearning that God wants us to feel when it concerns Him. He wants us more than we can ever imagine. He wants to know that we love Him genuinely and intentionally. And He deserves that, because before we even loved Him, He first loved us and died that we maybe saved.

  • Just like a saying I came across with which says”Prayer moves mountain while praises move God”. It is pertinent and soul refreshing to always praise and worship God and make it a priority in your life.

  • Itodo Amarachukwu Grace

God always long for a personal fellowship with his children but always gets sad when we forget about him and replace the place he is supposed to take in our lives with worries and different supplication we ask if him. We always fill our day with complaints instead of thanksgiving.

We should always pour out her heart in spirit filled worship to our lover and see him doing wonders in our lives

  • Onyenekwe Ihechi Prince

Absolutely, this is an incredible piece. Thank you so much, Ma Edith for blessing my life with this. This has taught me that beyond whatever we go through, God still deserves our praise, worship and declarations of love.

Secondly, I grabbed that our Almighty God wants to even bless us more than we ask for. All we should do is overcome frustrations and bless the Lord for His sufficiency and beauty. This should be our priority and daily lifestyle. Value-filled piece, Ma.

  • Benjamin Glory

Our worship is our weapon as Christians

There can’t be any intimacy with God without worship, we build our relationship with Him through worship.

Prayer without worship is not enough

  • Okoro Charity Oluchukwu

Our prayer is a way of maintaining good communication with God. How do you feel for a day without calling and receiving calls or texts from your cell phone or even staying for the whole day without sharing your thought with a friend?
Life without prayer is just like one who was ostracized by his kinsmen. How do you feel approaching to someone for stopped talking to for a long period of time?, probably your conscience won’t be clear.
In the same way, I noticed that when you stopped communicating with God, your prayer life will be affected negatively and you might begin to have double mind when making a prayer request for the fact the the umbilical cord of prayer have been cut by sins.
But God still give us chance just as a good shepherd does whenever he lost his sheep. He allows the sun to shine for both the good and bad people. God is not foolish but it’s a sign of another chance for genuine repentance.
As Christians, we should make God our best friend and place him upon everything which seems to be important in our life.
Thanks ma, you really inspired me.
    Am in the spirit 🙏🙏🙏

  • Nicholas Princewill Kelechi

Thank you so ma, for indeed our true essence in this life is only for his glory. As he said “seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and every other thing shall be added unto you”.

We tend to disbelieve and not have faith in God when we suffer. So we question our self when we worship him if it necessary to do so or neglect him just because he haven’t answered us yet. But there is no season to worship and praise God. Good or bad times he is God and he is waiting for the perfect time to heal ur heart and solve your burden . • In this post I learnt that by a profound, holistic worship one can bring God down the scene than praying with fear, gritting of teeth, frauning of face, etc.
Two, the more you pray vigorously in fear, panic, worries, etc., the more you do yourself to worse because God is a no respecter of face hence He is God.

“…When we lack this understanding or feel so pressed that we forget this,… we’re hurting God and cheating ourselves.”

This reminded me of a video I saw some time ago, was about three different people who came to God’s house while the first two were asking and lamenting about their situation God sent his angel to receive their prayers but when the lthird person who was a blind man came in he went down on his knees and began to worship and praise God, when An angel wanted to go receive his praises, God stop him and went himself to receive the blind man worship and praises and he instantly regain his sight, like in the case of Paul and silas who were in prison, they prayed, the sang, they worship God and the holy spirit came down from heaven and set them free . So yes, we should make worshipping God our priority no matter our needs

Wow. Powerful write up. “It’s the relationship that counts.” This line struck me the hardest. The relationship we establish with God before we begin to worship is what matters most. Worshipping God shouldn’t be dependent on whether or not our needs are instantly met because he is always faithful. It should be a regular habit of communing with our maker. Glory to God. Thank you so much Ma.

I feel we should always have it in mind that God loves worship and praises , I can really testify to that. whenever i am in church and worship and praise is going on, I always feel the presence of God in our midst. Thank you ma for the teaching.

Worship is a weapon, an invitation of getting more from God. Humans tend to be ungrateful, forgetting God’s faithfulness just because of a present challenge. Worship was one of the keys David in the Bible had and we also need to incorporate it in our walk with God. God bless you, ma.

When God ordered Pharoah to let his people (the Israelites) go, he said “That they may serve me”. Serving God is not requesting for your needs,at this point it is God who is servicing you,you only serve him when you worship him. David in the Bibleman who worshipped God ceaslessly and if we check there is non great in the bible as him,his consistency in worship moved God that he called him a man after his heart.

Worship is actually what draws us closer to God, it’s supposed to be part of our lives as God’s children.

Worshiping God is the least we can do for the one who is so faithful and generous to us. Thank you, ma!

  • Worshipping God is actually good for we his children. Thank you Ma for the reminder
