STILL HERE ‘N’ STILL SMILING (POEM AND BIBLE VERSES)
They said the walk with Christ will go swimmingly
That the altar call is all you need to rest easy
They said that if you give your money willingly
That Christ will make you rich, you’ll be so cosey
But the Bible stood to tell me a different story
That I should daily carry my cross in faithfulness
And though I give my all, it should give Him glory
My motivation, not wealth, but to show my gratefulness
And so I mused if I should ditch the Man of Calvary
I was hooked on the slick and smooth appeal fable
But as in the straight and narrow way I did tarry
I was convinced the truth is as told by my old Bible
I’ve seen the path of the believer is rarely trouble-free
The world and the devil tempt him relentlessly
His goal is heaven, not the earth’s gold ‘n’ glitzy glee
His hope is not a life on earth that goes breezingly

In view of this, in the Lord I’m profoundly rooted
In spite of the billows, I am staunchly standing
For temptations and trials I am befittingly suited
And no matter the knocks, I am continually smiling
My brothers and sisters on the believer’s journey
Disillusionment follows ungoverned yearning
Our expectations are subject to the Lord’s mercy
Extol His name ’cause we’re still here ‘n’ still smiling!

An award winning poem in my heart ❤️
The truth about serving God is not really how they are presented in our society today. Everything about knowing God is rooted in the Bible. Read it and grab a bite of the everlasting truth. Upon the irregularities in our world today, we choose to persist and remain happy in the Lord.
This was sweet to read, Edith! It explains how first we are drawn to Jesus because of the perfection and hope and joy, which IS yes true; however on earth we will endure many, many trials because the devil roams here! And though we suffer and have pain; somehow we find we can still smile and share the gospel; all because He Who lives in us is Greater than He Who lives in the world!
God bless you my dear sister in Christ, in Jesus’ name! Keep smiling! ?❤️✝️
Oh yes, Angela! He who is in us is indeed greater than anything we may ever face. My love to you and your family as you keep pointing out the silver lining in.our experiences this side of heaven.
This is so beautiful and encouraging! We can become disillusioned in our walks if we think it will all be roses. Thank you for sharing. I pray this encourages others as it has encouraged me! ❤
Thank you for visiting, Donna! I say a big “Amen” to your prayer in Jesus’ name.
Nice one ?
This words are to be said always by a true believer. It because the world alone is full of serval trials and does trials can’t be faced without us knowing this vital Bible verses as listed in the poem
I appreciate the writing I really got alot from it.
The truth be told, we are faced with great obstacles once we dwell in Christ like tribulations becomes a greater part of a believer but with GOD all tribulations are easy to conquer.
More power to your elbow and the Almighty will strengthen your faith in Him and also keep you going.
Amen. May He do the same for you in Jesus’ name.
Some time ago we used to sing this hymn, “Give me that old time religion… It’s good enough for me”. Another one we sang was, “am on the battle field for my Lord…I must continue to fight till I die”. These hymns and others like them suggest that the Christian Journey on this earth is not a walk in the park. It is rather a fight through the jungle.
The kind of Gospel we hear these days leaves me wondering if the words of our Lord Jesus and that of his apostles, the harbingers of the new covenant has been updated. My personal experience as a believer, agrees with the testimony of the Holy Scriptures, that through much temptations and trials, will a believer enter into the kingdom. Oh how I wish that what the modern preachers of the “new revelations” are telling me were true. Then I would have just taken a jolly ride into paradise. But alas, it is not so. In my odyssey as a Christian, I have been tempted, I have fallen and risen, I have been tried with severe trials and I found out the true meaning of the Scripture, “nay in all these things, we are more than Conquerors…” Again it says in another place, “to him that OVERCOMETH, will I give a crown…” Is it not the trials, temptations, tribulations that we must overcome to receive a crown of life and glory that will never fade?
Where did our preachers get this gospel that makes half-baked Christians today that cannot stand trials, temptations and persecutions? How did we come about this new message that the believer will enjoy a smooth journey to yonder heaven by and by. We need to go back to the Master’s feet and ask him again, “Lord is it so?”
Great poem, my sister. Like you, I have gone through many things but I’m still here, standing and smiling. God bless you for this.
Wow, what a wonderful comment! Abundant grace on you, my dear, as we journey along in Jesus’ name.
My name is Ugwu Chizoba Janet, wow ma must say am thrilled by this and the truth is that once u r a believer a Christian u will b face with lots of challenges from the devil but in all Ephesians 6:11-18 says we should put on the whole amour of God which is d scripture .on with God can never b put to shame
A beautiful one again. The third verse sunk into me in spirits. Thank you ma for reminding us of the uneasiness of following the Cross and the advice therein. I am strengthened.
Glory to God! Thanks for dropping by, Victor, and may the Lord keep your ink flowing too.
Beautiful. You have expressed it all. God bless you.
Thank you and God bless you too!
It always a pleasure to visit your blog, Ma. I love this particular poem so much! It’s so encouraging and motivating.. I pray we never lose our faith in God and his dear son Jesus Christ.. God bless you, Ma, for this wonderful piece.. Well done!!
Thank you for your kind words, Chidimma! May God surround you with His favour always in Jesus’ name.
I’m elevated…
Amen. May God continue to take you higher in Jesus’ name.
Thanks mummy. I so much love the beautiful sensitization you have made in this poem; most especially line 2, 3 and 4 of stanza 5 which says “In spite of the billows, I am staunchly standing For temptations and trials I am befittingly suited And no matter the knocks, I am continually smiling.” No matter the predicaments we may be experiencing, let’s always bear in mind that our positive reward is waiting ahead for us.
Yes oh! God never abandons those who put their trust in Him. Even in our hard times, He abides with us. May you feel His love and presence everyday of your life in Jesus’ name.
Thanks a lot, ma, for your words of encouragement. May the good Lord continue to bless you.
Well said, ma. In most cases the journey is rough and discouraging, but God’s everlasting grace keeps us going and reminds us that what we are working toward are the heavenly things and not earthly things.
May Gods grace always be sufficient for all of us
We can get weary and tired if we continue to look at the temptations around us but when we look up to God who is the author and finisher of our faith, He will bring us to an expected end despite the troubles
Temptation and trials are part of what makes us who we are in Christ.. So we are still here and smiling..because we know what is ahead of us. Thanks ma for the write up
Temptations will surely come so far we are on earth..but we should learn to look up to God always for solution as he is the creator and definer of our life..he would always be there for us .
I really love that poem. A believer’s way is never smooth at all, what’s in view is what keeps one going. Thanks for sharing ma!
Although as a christian one should really focus on making heaven and also put Christ before every other thing, but we should not also forget that even our Bible tells us that giving is good and that tithing opens the flood gates of heaven. God also spoke through his word (the Bible) that we as his children should not come into his sanctuary empty handed, and he also said that we should put him to test and bring our offerings and tithes to his house and see if he would not open the windows for our sake and also rebuke every devourer. So I think tithing and giving bountifully is also as important as carrying our daily cross as christians
Even the Bible made it clear to OK us that it is a narrow road. It is not an easy Journey. But with Christ, truly we will smile till the end.
wow! the race is a very long journey but God’s grace is sufficient
Tribulations and trials must come but remember he cant give us a temptation we cant handle. Always put a smile on your face, cause God is bigger than all our problems..SHALOM
Honestly, is not easy to stand firm in the Lord. I thank God whom by his mercy and grace, we overcome every trials and temptations. May his name be praised. Amen
As a Christian, I have encountered so much temptations and discouragements, but the word of God has kept me and His love has shielded me. God’s grace is made available for us all, God said “My grace is sufficient for you”… Let’s hold the fort as children of God for our Savior is coming.
In whatever we face, in trials and tribulations, we should have it in mind that God knows about it all. We should carry our own cross diligently without any form of complaint. We should believe and still hope in God because He sees all and His time is d best.
The Lord will never leave his people, in times of tribulations, been a Christian requires faith and Steadfastness
You’re always smiling Aunty Edith, and that is the source of your beauty and youth but many people are yet to discover the secret of smiling. Keep smiling Ma, God bless you.
This poem is basically between Christ and believers. A believer’s life is filled with trials and temptions coming here and there and because of this we should hold on to our faith and carry our cross without looking back…may God give us His grace to do so.
His grace will always keep us moving, just have faith and be steadfast.
Thank you ma, for this wonderful piece of work.
You are blessed
A believer would always suffer persecution and go through trials but God cannot put you in a situation too much for you to handle. Lovely piece ma’am, may God continue to bless you
Some churches have made money the priority in their worship of Christ, we are to worship God in truth and in spirit not with wealth not that we won’t sow seed for the church to grow but wealth shouldn’t direct the affairs of the church
Temptation and trials would always arise but with Jesus we are safe
Yet another wonder one again. The second verse really got me, “that I should carry my cross in faithfulness” look up to him in terms trouble and temptation and accept what ever challenge that comes our way because accepting and overcoming our challenges at times makes us stronger.
In the midst of all trials and tribulations, I believe that his grace is sufficient for me.
scripture always are God’s way for humanity to alwy overcome the devices of the devil
Whosoever is in Christ Jesus is bound to endless joy, endless smile…….
Truly tribulations and temptation will arise but we shall conquer all.
What God says he will do, that he will do……
He said that whosoever believe in him shall not perish but have everlasting an everlasting life………
Indeed he will see us though trials and temptations.
The scripture gives us the direction of the right path to follow and we are not assured of a crossless Christianity, therefore, we should embrace the act of endurance and perseverance with strong faith in Christ Jesus. Thank you ma, it’s a nice writeup
They said”if you give your money willingly, Christ will make you rich and you will be so cosey”
Bible said” though I give my all, it should give him glory, to show my gratitude ”
The above Lines are wonderful, it made me go back on a memory lane:back at home, my friends do tell me to give fat offerings in church, that giving fat offerings will make God to make me rich.
Giving to God shouldn’t be because we are expecting something from him, but we should give because we are grateful for our lives today. Giving to God shouldn’t only be about our wealth, giving should be inform of our motivation to serve him.
Truly, the life of a believer is not an easy one as he is tempted and tossed by the golds of the world. But he who stands with Christ has everything
Thank you for this inspirational poem. As a born again Christian we are faced with many temptation, trails which we conquer by Gods grace and makes us stronger in faith and closer to God. Giving to God doesn’t mean we want something back from him, we give cause is from our heart to or cause we were lead to. God will help all born again Christians to always stand on their faith and never backslide in Jesus name.
People often think once you become a believer, everything begins to work like a charm. Be informed even the believers faith Is tested.
Thank you ma
Serving God is the best thing that happened to me. It is not always a bed of roses because most times I have to give up somethings just for the sake of my faith because I know my love of God is bigger than anything else and his love for me is stronger than every other thing.
When you give your life to Christ, it doesn’t just end there. Rather, it is where the work begins. Temptations from every side would come your way but with God by your side, you will overcome. Don’t just see life after being born again as a bed of roses. You still have to keep the faith working and God in his infinite mercies will supply all your needs
You’re really something aunty. To be able to weather all the storms and tribulations that come with serving christ and here you are, still smiling!, It’s simply amazing. I was naive, thinking the walk would be smooth and easy. Just like you, I’ve been disillusioned. It takes so much more to keep going. Most times, I backslide but our ever loving father rekindles the fire inside me at every point when I am weak. I want to be as tough as you because this race is hard and I need to be in top form so that I can say too ‘Still here and still smiling ‘?
The lord is truly your strength ma .
I know your reward is not just on this earth but also in heaven.
Beautiful. When we fail to persevere, it is often because we have not recognized that we are actually in a trial. God has allowed the trial, and it is not random; it is not an obstacle to our growth, but ultimately the fuel for it. So we count it all joy when we go through diverse tests, knowing that the testing of our faith produces steadfastness (James 1:2&3)
I still ponder on how you manage to come up with things like this. I receive grace to write eloquently.
The walk with Christ is one that needs grace to pull through with.
I love the “abab” rhyme pattern you employed in writing this poem.
Thank you ma
More strength to you ma?. Serving God is not easy but i know that there is a great reward. I pray that God will give me the grace to live according to his will, To obey and serve him with joy ??
Beautiful. When we fail to persevere, it is often because we have not recognized that we are actually in a trial. God has allowed the trial, and it is not random; it is not an obstacle to our growth, but ultimately the fuel for it. ?
No matter the knocks, I will not give up by His grace because there is so much in ‘eternity’s bag’
This poem is very beautiful. Taking up our cross everyday and doing the will of the Father is not an easy one but like you said, we’ll still be here and we’ll still be smiling. God bless you ma.
There is no Christianity without challenges for in the midst of temptations, our faith is built. Never give up for our efforts is not in vain. The Lord never leaves his people.
Wonderful, I need posts like this every day to encourage me in this life. Despite tribulations or obstacles, we should always be joyful. It is the atmosphere of joy that keeps us strong every day.
As a Christian, temptation and trials are what build our faith in Christ the more, for as we triumph victorious, his glory shines and wax brighter. I believe, we as true believers (Christians), we have every reason to smile in Christ. So SMILE-ON ma.
Serving God is never easy, as the Bible tells us that as Christians and followers of Christ, we must carry our cross and follow him.
Smiling or been happy in the midst of challenges and temptation makes the devil weak and powerless over you. Why not put up a smiling face and let the devil be put to shame. Good one.
Is in God we can find full joy and happiness. We can lack nothing if he is with us. We will continue smiling all the days of our lives if we can continue believing in Him.
Marvellous …. Serving God takes a lot of sacrifices in life we shud strive to do that and recieve his blessings in return
This days what is been preached about following christ makes following him look easy but the work with christ requires absolute committment .
So many men of God have changed the course of His words from spiritual prosperity to material prosperity. Though the material aspect is not to be neglected but also should not be the major emphasis.
To every Christian there’s a cross, an alarming responsibility, lots of sacrifices, pains, tribulations, failures, challenges lack, the list is inexhaustible. The good thing however is that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Nice post Ma
Being a Christian does not mean the absence of trials and temptation in short the day you become a believer that is when all the troubles would start coming your way but God has already told us that he is always with us, we are meant to face these challenges knowing that we have a price for it which is the kingdom of God, my prayer is that God will see us through
Thank you Ma. This is really encouraging. Believers way are not always smooth and easy going but we have confident in the Lord that he will not give us any trials that is greater than us. In all situation, we are still here and smiling.
Nice Write up, Ma. In the Poem, I learnt that Christians should smile, not because temptations are not coming, but because through Christ, we are winning the battle. The Scripture, not what others say, should be a guiding principle.
This is an encouraging piece. Even though it seems trials and temptations are always coming to us, we should not as true Christians ever quiver nor give in to them. We may not get to have all the riches of this passing world but we will definitely be rewarded in the world to come. God never sleeps nor slumbers and he knows His true Children.
When the sun’s shining and everything’s going our way, we don’t feel our need for God. But desperate times lead to desperate prayer. When we’re helpless to change our situation, we cry out to our Savior who delivers us from our distress.
We were told – oh it’s a beautiful road
So cool and cheesy
Come give and have a nice aboard
Your bed would be smooth and rosy
But this where lies, to our faces truth untold
The ride wasn’t pleasant or easy
But not withstanding I find truth and solace in the word
With God by my side I wear a face smiley.
Beautiful. When we sometimes fail to persevere, it is often because we have not recognized that we are actually in a trial. God has allowed the trial, and it is not random; it is not an obstacle to our growth, but ultimately the fuel for it. We therefore count it all joy when we go through diverse tests/trials, for the testing of our faith produces steadfastness (-James 1:2&3)

Sometimes these pastors don’t usually tell us the journey is going to be bumpy and stressful but all I know and am very sure of is that Christ is in control.
This poem reminds me of that song Christ is my Rock, my Refuge my ,Stronghold . We all should always remember that God is in control of everything …Amen
The society today has put on a sherade about Christianity. We have painted the deep wounds and pretend that it’s a jolly ride but the true doctrine depicts that to suffer for Christ is gain. I pray we keep smiling no matter the gravitas of the cross.
I❤️? this wow!
A lot can be learn from this poem for instance, it said somewhere that “I’ve seen the path of the believer is rarely trouble-free
The world and the devil tempt him relentlessly
His goal is heaven, not the earth’s gold ‘n’ glitzy glee
His hope is not a life on earth that goes breezingly” Thus, it is reminder about the ultimate goal , heaven. Having this mindset is that can keep one going in this rough times…. Am blessed ?. God bless you and also give the grace too Dr. Edith O.
Instead of always complaining that roses have thorns, we should appreciate the fact that thorns have roses.. Nothing in life comes easy we can see this in the Bible that even Jesus had to toil on Earth for our greater reward so we shouldn’t feel like there’s no God because things don’t walk out the way you want it. God our father knows the best for his children
Truth is Christ is greater than anything we might face here on earth. Challenges are sure to arise but the sweet Knowledge of Christ’s love and all the beautiful things that awaits us as believers supercedes all.
As far as I still exist I strongly believe that the only truthful book as in relation to morality and other life related issue is the holy bible and as staunch and core Christian there is no easy way into promise land (Heaven) and as a believer they will always be trials, sufferings and tribulation.
Every day I pray for grace to take me on for d rest of my life in dis world.the good lord has promised us of the kingdom for which we will go through trouble to get deir.i am glad to say this post has set me on the right pat.i am grateful
Who am I not to smile in the presence of the Lord. Jesus should be your source of happiness for the things he does for us is immeasurable. Thank you ma.
It not easy at all
But I ask for the grace and divine strength to carry my cross daily despite temptations from the devil..
I am grateful Lord for what you have done in my life so far. I ask to be contented in you and not to run after the things on this flesh and forget about your rich promises in my life.
I must appreciate you mma, for this great work, more of God’s strength to you.
“That the altar call is all you need to rest easy” I don’t like this message, young believers get the wrong picture
And when they see that it is not playing out how they were told or how they imagined in their head, they say the scriptures is a lie, that there is no God, and so we see people giving up on the faith because of billiows and little Knocks.
But my confidence is that The Almighty God never disappoints
The Bible tells us to glory in our tribulations Romans 5:3 KJV
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Lord i want to dwell in ur presence forever.
Those words
Those words
Oh! Those words where really really inspiring I can swear it. Keep the good work momma.
The lord got u, the lord got us all.
One thing i know for sure is that God that will give you an unending peace amidst all the world’s struggle. Nice one ma. Keep glowing in the lord
As the sayings; No cross, No glory. The struggle to make heaven is never trouble free.
Good things don’t come easy. But as a Christian He assured us that his grace is sufficient for us.
Lovely write-up ma. May I continue to smile for all that God has done in my life for his blessings are endless and I will forever praise him. God bless you ma
“Seek ye the kingdom of God first and all other things shall be added into you”. Life on Earth may seem sweet and lovely but leading to eternal destruction. Though trials shall come when seeking his kingdom but He has given His promise that His thoughts for us are of good and not for evil, to give us an expected end; the end of eternal life. I pray that we continue to seek his face no matter the trials and tribulations, that at the end we shall make it to that glorious home, heaven. Thank you ma for ur encouraging poem
Yes! We are still here and still smiling. My mum in the Lord said during one of her renditions that ” trouble is a supposed complement in the believer’s life”, & of course there won’t be testimonies without troubles. Infact, God cannot glorify himself without troubles and it is in times of trouble that we discover the mightiness of God. In conclusion, she also said that if you don’t have any trouble as a believer the you should humbly go on your knees and pray for trouble.?? nice piece ma.
I emulate you ma the Christian race is not easy but Christ as assured us victory and you are reminding me thank you ma.
The life of a Christian is filled with temptations but the lord will only give us that which is in our power to overcome.. Life is not a bed of roses, we must work hard and have faith, and hope to smile at the end with our father.
i am here and still smiling too ma, the journey of being a true Christian is exciting, reminiscing on God’s mercies and graces on my life is worth giving him all my attention. God’s gift is beyond compare.
God gives us the grace to go through the weird and painful stuff the world has to offer!
Thank you so much for reminding us of this fact Aunty Edith
Is true that we ought to smile, no matter the knocks but sometimes is really not as easy as it sounds… However, with God everything is possible.
Being a born again Christian is filled with many circumstances, temptations and tribulations but by the grace of God we shall over come them all. When you a born again Christian, you have dominion over Satan conquers him . Serving God is the way of truth for you to have an eternal life. Thanx ma for this wonderful post.
This write up reminds me that we should obediently follow the way jesus Christ showed us and also be ready to carry our cross, no matter how bad the situation may be like. So that the God who See’s in secret will reward us with his unending blessings..
God bless u ma, you have indeed been a role model to the young age in your motivational and teaching story. May God continue to grant you mercy and the will to keep on .
You taught me that we should feel cheerful and to always be optimistic in our plight and to keep on smiling for every thing is going to be alright.
The moment we accept to be Christian, we ought to understand that we are open to trials and difficulties because Christ himself passed through many .We should pray for Gods grace to overcomes any trials that might come our way
Thank u ma for this wonderful piece, may ur ink never run dry
According to the book of Job 14:1, it says; a man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of many troubles.
Heavenly race is not an easy one,but he that remains steadfast till the end, a crown of glory awaits him.
The believers journey indeed is not cozy nor swimmingly. There will be trials and temptations. You may call it a bumpy ride but He will safely lead you through. I love the rhythm of the poem. It gives it a more personal and experiential feeling.
Wonderful ma…….the joy of the lord is your strenght. Troubles and tempest may come your way but with God, you shall overcome it.keep smiling and shining for victory is yours…Amen
Our Lord Jesus Christ even said it, that the call unto Christianity is not a bed of roses. He besought any one who wants follow him to carry his or her cross and follow him daily. The cross signifies suffering. However, those who opine that Christianity is void of suffering are preaching a different gospel and have confused many shallow rooted Christians, especially those who joined the faith with an intention unconnected with the salvation of their souls.
The Christan journey is not all bed of roses. I remember the words of a preacher that states that when you accept Christ the devil will come stronger to destroy the testimony of salvation of that person but the person needs to be committed, persistent and develop a hunger for the things of God. I love this blog because it opens our eyes to the truth especially in the things of God.
For those who want to follow Christ should drop the things of the world and carry the cross. Inference from these shows that they way to the Lord Eldorado is not an easy task, we therefore suffer tribulations and trials but by his grace we are still “here “N” Smiling” God bless you ma!
I’m so thrilled by the contents of these poem, As Christians we go through many temptation but just as Christ died for us we should stay put, be glad and keep smiling because our aim as Christians is to make heaven. We should always appreciate God and praise his name!
A very powerful poem of quaitet. with nice rhythm and some rhymes. There is strong relationship and flow between the stanzas. The theme is on the path to salvation: human wealth ,deeds and works or faith and righteousness. However, in the first line, it is not clear who the “they” is referring to.
Sometimes the way we expect God to bless us is not how he does. We may feel like the promise is failing us, but God has a perfect plan for us and in due time it will manifest.
The decision to follow Christ Jesus faithfully is never bread and butter but i delight in the help and grace available for us believers through the person of the Holy Spirit. God bless you Ma, for this poem.
Jesus is the only true way.Temptation must come but if we really know the Lord we serve, there is no temptation we cannot defeat and laugh at last.
Walking with God is the best thing ever because the feeling you get is second to none, you will feel safe and temptations and trials will be like a stepping stone.
Honest to God, we are faced with trials and tribulations in our quest to serve him. But then by his grace we shall triumph
”I’ve seen the path of the believer is rarely trouble-free
The world and the devil tempt him relentlessly
His goal is heaven, not the earth’s gold ‘n’ glitzy glee
His hope is not a life on earth that goes breezingly”
This portion of the poem reassure me that in the face of opposition band trials we Still look forward to Heaven at last.
So true, the journey is indeed a difficult one, and the temptations comes in different forms trying to lead as away but his grace we hope for.
Ma,you will continue to smile all the days of your life.God bless you for your word of Encouragement.
In life, there must be temptations at different levels but then, we must learn to overcome it and we should always remember that there is light at the end of every tunnel… God is great, today and forever
Lovely poem. The journey of life is a treacherous one, we hope for God’s grace as we go through it. Amen
Believing in God and having faith in him is a great challenge to us Christians, because we face lots of trials and temptations but, we always overcome them by his grace; for he said”Go forth I am with you”..
In times of trials and tribulations, he is always with us.
This is what I signed up for(Christian life), I will get there….
This poem is much encouragement, I appreciate it much. It reminds me that the Christian life is not a vale of pleasure but is a life of submission to whatever God allows in our way, our crosses and sacrifices for eternal life. It’s really much encouragement.
Thank u so much ma for the insight. This poem only went further to appraise my own thoughts. In christainity today there are a thousand and one doctrines, most of them sugar-coated to feed the greedy minds of so called christians. Many people flock to churches that pacifies their bloated egos. Good Christian should know that the Christian journey is not a bed of roses, and that it comes with it’s ups and downs thereby leading to prayer for Grace to scale through and gain the ultimate trophy, which is making heaven with stars in their crowns. Aunty Edith u are a blessing to this generation.
A sincere Christian’s life is full of ups and downs tribulations here and there, it does not go smoothly as some preachers preach. Good help us to follow his banner and serve him wholeheartedly wherever we go, whenever we are tempted i pray that God gives us the grace to say no. God bless u ma.

Grace keeps us moving and believing. Sometimes as human we question God but no matter what he has the last same and we are forever His subjects.
Pray his grace keeps me on.
Walking with Christ is not really easy just like the way the church has simplified it. For me, I feel it’s more of a personal encounter and grace. But one thing is sure, God will never give His child a burden he or she can’t bear, for His burden is easy and His yoke is light….Thank you ma.
This sounds like an onward Christian soldier. I am really encouraged,Ma. May God help us to continue living our lives in alignment to his will.
If I didn’t know her, I’d say that she wrote the poem for writing sake. But she’s one woman I know that smiles so much I begin to wonder if she has problems at all. I can remember how she taught us to smile always even in the face of trouble saying that she too had a problem with smiling. But she overcame it. I know that believers suffer a lot but if our Edith Ohaja can smile like this, I can still smile!
The walk of salvation is not an easy one. I believe that as Christians; we should be continually ready to carry our cross just as our Master Jesus did for us. But we shouldn’t do this grumpily, it’s all part of the process and Jesus will give us rest here and eternally as well. We are not of this world, so it’s normal to feel out of place.
Beautiful and encouraging piece ma, in the midst of troubles and temptations if we have God by our side, he will surely see us through!
In life one will surely be faced with tempations, trials and tribulations but with God we will surely scale through. I receive the mandate to stay in Gods grace.
You smile everyday when you are on the right path. Especially when you are successful in all ramifications. I concur to that saying that he who laughs last laughs better. The Lord is grateful to his loved ones.
We can get weary and tired of we continue to look at the temptations around us, if we look up to God who is our maker, he will bring us to our glory.
The road to life is not an easy road at all, you must face temptations on the way and that helps to keep our faith strong
Beautiful post. Thank you ma for the advice and by God’s grace we Shall overcome every temptation on our journey.
Christianity will be all “cosey” when we get to heaven, where no evil dwells and we can’t enjoy it here to the fullest because of the war against man’s soul.
Apostle Selman would say “life is spiritual”, even if the plans of God for us are for good and not bad, the spiritual war for our soul makes it look otherwise. God certainly would never leave us to fight alone if we really abide in him. Though the sorrow, affliction and so on, may last for a night but joy comes in the morning.
I have been in a position were all I needed was for God to fulfill his word on providence and healing, but all I got was silence (the kind that breaks your heart) and I began to wonder if I really believed, but God in his infinite mercy reminded me of his love and that he is the God who never lies. He wanted me to trust him. Trusting God can most time be difficult, but it is worth. Thank God for after all, I am still here and smiling.

I believe as Christians we must serve the Lord in every way we can, through the good, the bad and the ugly. The road is never easy but joy comes in the morning.
This is a very inspiring piece, the Lord is the author and finished of our faith” even when we seem to be at the end of the road battling with numerous needs and circumstances we must always remember this.
This has really brought light into me. Despite all to be contented and smiling. Hmmm it hard really but contentment pay off. God will definitely see His children through when you walk with Him. I want to keep smiling despite all.
Awesome! So I finally read this piece and I was touched. Honestly to me there are so many reasons to keep Christ at my side, this piece made me wanting more… God bless you for this… I’m sure it touched lives.
The decision to follow Christ is not easy at all, but we must realize that there is an eternal weight of glory awaiting us in heaven and we must ever keep our eyes on that goal no matter the gravity of temptations we face
Bless your soul ma for this post. Indeed visiting your blog in Times of depression and sadness serves as a healing miracle. I speak from experience Ma.
Many believes that once you give their lives to Christ the road becomes very much easier. No, in this race with God, tribulations and trials will come our ways but Christ is our shield and defender Therefore, there is no cause for an alarm.
In the world we are certain to face tribulations and trials but be of good cheer for Jesus has overcome the world. This verse rings in my heart whenever am faced with problems that seems unsolvable but when I remember my Jesus had overcome the world I go on smiling and rejoicing because I know I will overcome soon.Blessed assurance indeed.
Lord your grace is all I ask in my life. No matter how hard it seems, give me the inner strength to pull through with more of your words. Thank you na for this wonderful motivation backed up with God’s words.
We must face temptations and trials as Christians, but God expects us to bear them faithfully.
This explains how we are drawn to Jesus and also a constant reminder of how we came into thus world with nothing and how we would still leave with nothing. All we need to overcome the temptations and sufferings are his grace.
Taking up one’s cross and following Christ is not rosy, it makes one the number one target to the devil and the world, persecution will seem like it will never end but with God, one will make it to the end.
Reading some of your pieces just gives me the strength I need. The exposure to backing bible verses to read from is even better. I’ll keep being strong as a Christian even in the face o all odds. I’ll be here and still smiling
Yes we must face temptations both as believers and non believers. How we go about those temptations is the question. We are human and we need the help of God almighty to overcome any temptation.
“”His goal is heaven, not the earth’s gold ‘n’ glitzy glee
His hope is not a life on earth that goes breezingly”” this part really got to me…. By the way Ma’am, that smile is indeed beautiful, like its straight from the innermost part of the soul. I pray that smile never departs from you… Amen
Totally true, the pains we endure, the persecution, they are all a stage we will pass through for the greater gift which is internal life.
What a bitter truth this generation of grace needs to hear. May the Lord help us to fight a good fight of faith. Truly we need his mercy in other finish strong and well. It was God’s mercy that saved the body of Moses. Conclusively, it is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy.
The reward we receive in heaven proceeds from our willingness and actions in bearing our crosses on the narrow way to the promise land. however, even though the christian life is not free from trouble, it is always pervaded by joy.
Temptation and trials are part the challenges we face following Christ. But that shouldn’t make us turn from our faith because according to God’s words the trials and tribulations we are passing through are just for a while. Nice piece ma I feel blessed with these.
This is a very nice one ma
Surely we will give him all the glory and honor even in times of trial and temptation.
Thank you so much ma’am.
Being a believer is sincerely the best thing that has happened to me, giving my life to Christ has taken me places that I would never have reached on my own.
I’ve attained a lot at a young age and this is because of the Holy Spirit in me.
Christ guides my path, He Leads me and directs my steps, I’ll be no where without Him.
Although, tribulations and trials will come; he is ever ready to deliver his people.
It a very nice poem ma.
I have come to the understanding that the journey to heaven is full of ups and downs but the willed endures it to the end. I pray for everyone to keep the faith alive and live accordingly. I wish you all heaven at last. Before I forget jor…. Nice set of teeth u got there ma.. lol.
As Christians, we should not stop expecting trials and temptations. That is what proves our Christianship. Jesus was tempted and tried. Never stop believing in him even in trials so that even if earthly rewards comes not, your Heavenly reward would still be there. Nice Poem ma.
The believer’s journey hmmmmm. I once heard one praying and said Lord I’m willing to take up this journey, the fool’s journey Lord please help me”. It’s indeed not as rosy as it seems but indeed his grace is sufficient. And indeed it’s a journey worth undertaking. We truly begin to live and of course purposefully when we find Christ.
These are very encouraging words indeed. I pray for the grace to always remain in God’s presence no matter what.
Daily we are faced with trials and tribulations in various forms but our Hope is in Christ who’ll continue to lead us not into temptation and deliver us from this tribulations
Those in Christ Jesus are as bold as lion. God never fail his people. Am inspired ma. Thank you very much.
This was interesting to read. Once you are a believer, different trials and tribulations come knocking on your door. Good job ma.
A beautiful one again. I pray this encourages others as it has encouraged me! Temptation are part of what makes us who we are in Christ and because of this, we should hold on to our faith and carry our cross without looking back.
The words in this poem are true words.
They are words you can hold on to when you feel lost and far from holiness.
This is a very nice piece, thanks ma for this.
As christains, we should know that we will face trails, temptations and persecutions but with God, we will conquer.
Despite the trials, despite the waves, the Bible gives us more reasons to keep “Standing ‘N’ smiling”. May God strengthen you in your walk with him always. Amen.
From this poem I know God is good and waiting upon the Lord is never a waste of time. Because his time is the best though it may look like he has forgotten us but his still working especially when all hope is gone.
The church is another reason people don’t go to church, they always ask for money, Me personally I’m often affected by this.
Once you accept you’re a christian the devil sets up many trials and setbacks to try your faith.
I pray God gives us the fortitude to run the heavenly race.
In every point of our life, we face trials…but through prayers we will overcome.
With God everything is possible, temptations will try to bring us down but our strong faith in God will keep us moving.
In our struggle with existential challenges, may we not loose the sight of God in order to always “stand and smile”.
I really love this poem.
This poem just summarized the journey of a true believer. A journey filled with temptations and obstacles from the devil.
God bless you ma for this.
Beautiful. Thanks again na for your words of encouragement.
I’ve learnt to trust God and be contented even when things don’t go my way, even when I’m not satisfied and even when I know that I deserve more.
We’re still here and still smiling. I love how you love God.
Yes the poeple of God face troubles..one thing is common in them, they smile always even in their troubles
Ma, your life is an epitome and example of God’s miraculous works
Thank God for you and for all He has done for you
I think am beginning to enjoy visiting your blog. It’s so inspirational, it answers most questions on my mind. All I need do is to go to the right category and I’ll find it, I love you, ma’am, thanks so much..
the root of our belief in Christ is rooted in the bible. More grease and grace to you Ma for all these inspirations
the root of our belief in Christ is rooted in the bible. More grease and grace to you Ma for all these inspirations
Wow, this is Enlightening
Kudos to you Ma
God never abandon us in times of tribulations so we should keep on smiling.
This poem reminds me of the Bible verse that says we should work out our salvation with fear and trembling. We must work out this salvation to the fullest.
The road to a perfect Christian life is not easy at all ma. We all need God’s grace to forge ahead.
If our heart is right with God, we’ll enjoy a peace that passes all understanding.
I enjoyed this poem. Serving God does not mean a trouble free life. We should be confident that we have overcome through Christ.
We should always be rooted in Christ Jesus and the word of God which the Bible. No matter the troubles you may face always stay rooted in God.
The Christian journey is not at all a walk in the park. Some sermons on church at times don’t depict the truth of the whole matter. Yes,all pastor or Reverend says is the truth but juicier than the main fact.
Wow ma must say am thrilled by this and the truth is that once u r a believer a Christian u will b face with lots of challenges from the devil but in all Ephesians 6:11-18 says we should put on the whole amour of God which is d scripture .on with God can never b put to shame
I’m carried away with the way you write, ma. May God give us the strength to make heaven.
Thank you, ma, for this lovely poem. I really appreciate.
I love the rhythm of this poem
“And though I give my all, it should give Him glory” This captured my heart……Does this mean that intentionality is not all that matters???….Does this mean I can waste my time doing church work and God’s work?? May I recieve grace O Lord, that my all shall give you glory always, Amen
This poem reminds one of the bible passage that says we should work out our salvation with fear and trembling. We must work out this salvation to the fullest.
The path of a believer is not an easy way to go but we shouldn’t let our faith be waver because of the things of this world, our goal is heaven and not the earth gold. Thanks ma for the reminder
Even in good days and bad days, keep smiling. God will surely come through for his own.
This poem is inspirational. More grace ma.
This is awesome, thank you for the encouragement ma.
I learnt that the utmost gift to give God is one’s motivation and sincere services and not one’s wealth as some pastors preach .
This is really encouraging. Trusting God in our tribulations because he never sleeps no sleep.. Thank you ma for this.
The trials that comes with being a Christian is really alarming. God will continue to give me the grace to carry on, because I don’t want to serve anyone but him.
“In spite of the billows, I am staunchly standing
For temptations and trials I am befittingly suited
And no matter the knocks, I am continually smiling”.
This should be the confession of every Christian. I’m blessed.
In Christ there is really hope me joy. All we need to do is to believe in him both in difficulties and in easy going times.
This poem makes me appreciate the fact that I’m alive by God’s grace and in spite of everything.
