The gift of eternal life from the everlasting God

The Gift of Eternal Life from the Everlasting God

As Christians, we have no reason to be downcast because we have the greatest gift of all- the gift of eternal life from the everlasting God.

The Bible declares that, “In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God and the Word was God.” – John 1:1

That Word was later made flesh and dwelt among humans (John 1:12). His name is Jesus the Christ.

That means that all through history, He has existed. Whether men acknowledged or defied Him, He has remained the Supreme Ruler of the Universe.

“For you, Lord, are the Most High over all the earth;
you are exalted far above all gods.” – Psalm 97:9

“Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power
and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
Yours, Lord, is the kingdom;
you are exalted as head over all.” – 1 Chronicles 29:11

Therefore, there is no need to be troubled. Our God is truly the Ancient of Days. He has always been here and He will always be here. He knows all the imaginations of men’s hearts and how evil they can be.

“My eyes are on all their ways; they are not hidden from me, nor is their sin concealed from my eyes.” – Jeremiah 16:17

And after humans have done their worst and He has dispensed with them, He will remain for His years never end (Psalm 102:27). As Psalm 90:2 affirms, from everlasting to everlasting, He is God.

This His endless life is the gift He has given us in Christ (John 3:16). That means that we too will outlive the evil in the world. We may suffer persecution in the interim but we have an indestructible life in God through our Lord Jesus (Hebrews 7.16). Hallelujah!

How to Receive this Gift of Eternal Life

You need to acknowledge in prayer to God that you are a sinner as everyone has been and receive His forgiveness and redemption offered through Christ.

The gift of eternal life from the everlasting God

You can do so by praying this sinner’s prayer:

Our Father in heaven, I thank You for sending Jesus to die on the cross for my sins. I receive forgiveness and salvation through His sacrifice on Calvary. I thereby receive the gift of eternal life which You have promised those who believe in Him and the Holy Spirit to live in my heart as a witness and counselor. Thank you for saving me in Jesus’ name.
