A FRIEND FROM THE LORD (POEM)
A friend from the Lord is more precious than gold
In rough and stormy weather
She’ll stand to give you shelter
And when the sky is clear blue
She’ll laugh and dance with you
Few will stand with you through thick and thin
But I’ve found that friend in Grace
Whose words are filled with praise
With comfort, power, refreshment
She’s undoubtedly heaven-sent
1 Samuel 23:15-16
15 While David was at Horesh in the Desert of Ziph, he learned that Saul had come out to take his life. 16 And Saul’s son jonathan went to David at Horesh and helped him find strength in God.
The righteous choose their friends carefully,
but the way of the wicked leads them astray.
Perfume and incense bring joy to the heart,
and the pleasantness of a friend
springs from their heartfelt advice.
