FEAR NOT, MY CHILD!

When life tosses you about like the raging sea
When the road you walk is perilously rough
When the darkness is such that you cannot see
Fear not, my child, for I am always with you

When wars threaten to overtake and defeat you
When the enemies’ snares are all over your path
When their boastings sound so scary and true
Fear not, my child, for I will fight for you

I knew you long before you came to be
I knew that these challenges will test your faith
I knew that in me you’ll have the victory
So fear not my child, and stand your ground

    • Reminds me of a popular song: Waymaker, miracle worker, light in the darkness, My God, that is who You are…. Bless you, Chidi!

    • Why indeed, my dear? But fear can be so irrational and it can get overwhelming sometimes. That is why God constantly assures His children of His presence and power and admonishes them not to be afraid. Enjoy God’s favour always, Chibuzor, in Jesus’ name.

  1. Yes, because our God is an awesome God… He has given us victory, we need not to be afraid of any situation because he is aware of everything… We give him all the glory

    • Amen. If only we can remember that in the face of trials… But He upholds us despite our often limited view of Him. Bless you, Anderline!

  2. The Bible says that “His Word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path….” Therefore I see no reason why any child of God should fear cus he has shone his light on our way and is taking the lead for us to follow. Even in the midst of our challenges, He still shows himself mightier than our troubles…. He is Jehovah and every mountain levels before him.. So this poem should serve as an encouragement and reminder to every Christian that His love remaineth forever and that his mighty hand is strong behind us even in the worst of situations, so we shall surely come out victorious. He that is with us is greater than he that is in the world and also greater than all our troubles… So “fear not, my child” is what the Lord is saying to somebody today!!!!!! Nice one Ma

  3. Jehova Nissi is his name (the lord is our banner) if he is with u it means u are safe dats why u should not be afraid.thank u ma

  4. It is very true that God has something to tell us in his word that addresses every situation we pass through, it makes me realize that I’m not alone, that God is with me. I’m really blessed.

    • Glory to God! Thanks a million, Rita! I pray it strengthens the heart of believers who read it in Jesus’ name.

  5. The title captured my attention, thanks for the “word” it has lifted a soul. Job 41:2 says “I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee”.

  6. Its like this poem was specially written for me, because am going through a lot that recently I don’t know my left from my right and I keep asking God questions day in day out. Thank you for this piece. God bless you ma.

    • No, He never does! He is a faithful God! Thanks for calling on me, Carlie! Grace upon grace on your ministry in Jesus’ name.

  7. Fear Not, My Child!

when your dreams seem to fade away
when poverty titillates and titivates before your mirror
when hope seems to be hopeless
when the atmosphere changes her face without your consent
    fear not, my child!

Isaiah 43:1 says, ” But now, this is what the Lord says – he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine”.

Though, it is written that we should not be afraid of anything but the issue i want to raise here is that of a late Christian brother i met sometime ago who was cautioned not to go out one very night for vigil due to the rampant armed robbery cases in his area. instead of listening to them, he gave them bible verses saying that a Christian should not be afraid of anything. To cut the story short, he was eventually killed that night.
The fact that we are covered by the blood of Jesus doesn’t mean that when we see danger, we should put our hands in it.

    • Very good point, Deacon, very good! When the devil tzold Jesus to jump down from a height that the Scriptures promise that God will send angels to catch Him, Jesus responded that the Scriptures also say that you should not tempt the Lord your God.

  8. When God is for us, who can be against us? NOBODY.. fear not, for he is with us and his mercy endures forever…

  12. Nice poem. The last stanza struck me. It threw me back to what the Lord said to Prophet Jeremiah when the prophet was quite younger, “before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee……” The prophet wanted to avoid God’s assignment by all means with the ‘concrete’ excuse that he was a child. You know, it struck me with this feeling that God’s gat my back. Halleluiah! So therefore no vacancy for fear. Thank you ma, you are such a blessing. God punish the devil. Well done
