TALKING TO MY IMAGINARY REAL FRIEND #4 (SHORT STORY)

Intro:
Hello! We continue our short story serial from the point our kid is still trying to figure out the root of the problem at home but his parents aren’t giving him any clues. Has his imaginary real friend been of help? Let’s see.

Oh and the experience of reading this episode won’t be complete if you don’t join the Sunday School class portrayed in the illustration. And attempt the quiz! Haha! Want to see how many adults will flunk the test that many six to eight-year olds will pass.

TALKING TO MY IMAGINARY REAL FRIEND #4

Sunday 11 a.m.
I’ve just been dropped off by our neighbours. My parents let me go to church with them. They say it will be good for me. The children’s church is divided into classes and today, our teacher gave me the gift she promised when I joined her class last month – a Book of Bible Stories. Should be called Book of Bible Pictures as it has more drawings than stories. But I love it. The drawings have beautiful colours and I can read the words. I’ve finished the first story – “In the beginning”. Nothing too hard so far.

I talked to God in church today. I told him about my mum crying and my dad angry and no one will tell me why. He said I should tell Mum Dad is leaving but it would only be for a while. I didn’t understand it but I wrote it down ’cause it seemed important. But I forgot to ask Him how I can get Mum to answer my question about the right time for her to have a baby or how to find out what she is hiding.

I find my mum in their bedroom, crying again. She wants to say something but I beat her to it, “I know, you’re not crying.” She really starts weeping loudly and I’m confused.

“I’m sorry. What did I do? I thought that was what you were going to say.”

She calms down after a while and I remember the message. So I tell her and she mutters, “He’s left already.” Then she looks up suddenly and asks, “What did you just say?” I repeat the message exactly as before and she goes, “Who told you that?”

“God,” I answer and she lets out one long breath. “That is the best thing I have heard today,” she says, sniffing. “And you know what, I believe it. I have to believe it.”

“That is the best thing I have heard
today,” she says, sniffing. “And you know what,
I believe it. I have to believe it.”
Hahaha… I am as confused as this little boy ooo. What exactly is she talking about! Time will tell sha.
I think the little boy is on a very good track by talking and listening to God. And his mother’s belief or faith or spiritual strength can never be a hindrance for God’s manifestation through him to his family.
I love the story, the suspense and the little boy’s sharp mouth… Waiting patiently for the next episode. Well done ma!

little ones sometimes receive solutions from God, especially here that the boy’s parents appears not to go into HIS sanctuary often. Good one ma. can’t wait to for the suspense to be cleared. waiting for the next episode.

  • Jeremiah Chioma

can he get any cuter… he was unknowingly interceeding on behalf of his parents but didn’t forget the “important” longing he’d had since the beginning of the series- to have a little brother. LOL

  • chika divine umunnakwe

the boy is growing in the lord without his parents fellowship. whatever we do will always be known someday.children are lovely

  • Nweke Jemimah Chisom

    wow..

  • Onyekaozuru Florence

Wow, I am beaten by the fact a six year old boy can talk to God and receive directions from him, that is to say God is a respecter of no man he uses anyone as he deems fit,and then my heart goes out to a little boy who knows little or nothing about what’s happening and is so confused about everything, but am happy because he has a friend who reveals things to him even if he doesn’t understand. and another part of this story that got me is that this little boy who has a strong relationship with God,his parents are not even Christians, they do not go to church and I ask myself truthfully if i was his age and my parents were not Christians if I would think of church not even to talk about God,am happy for him that he found the most treasurable gift on earth at a very young age, this story is very emotional and suspense-filled, moving to the next episode……… #

Awwww. This little boy is truly a blessing. Can’t imagine going to church without my parents at his age.

    • Edith Ohaja

God works in mysterious ways. The parents don’t go to church but they allow him to saying it will be good for him. You didn’t do the Sunday School quiz, lol!

  • “Call upon the name of the lord”
“Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings…”
Two bible quotes in my head right now

  • Ikenna precious

From the looks of things, thus family has more secrets than they are letting on. See how God spoke to this little boy. God is indeed wonderful.

  • Anyadubalu Oluchi Maryrose

Baby Bruno, you don’t have to stop talking to our imaginary real friend, not at all. I’m sure He will find a solution at the right time,

  • ezeagbo ifebuche juliet

God can speak to us in many ways. he does not care about your age, attitude, status etc. he just used this young boy to talk to his mother that one day everything will be alright. this story is really entertaining and educating.

  • Njoku chiamaka Constance

The boy has already established a close relationship with God and is already hearing from him. Nice

  • Kat

Ha! His mother sounds surprised at his answer that God told him. I’m glad she believes though. I still can’t figure out what’s happening and i’m as confused as Bruno right now. I hope some clarity will come soon

  • Ezeh Blessing

I like the fact that God is telling him things especially about whats happening in his family now. Wish his mother would just open up and tell him what’s wrong. We’ll see in the next epidode i believe

  • Ugwu Chiamaka Peace

I am as confused as the little boy is. I wonder what is going on in the house.
Children should be encouraged to attend Sunday school. I remember when I had my own copy of The book of Bible stories. Its nice of his parents to let him go to church even though they don’t.

  • Martins Kingsley

This is really arousing pity in me

  • Amarachi

Hmmmm, this is pitiful. I really feel for the little boy. Well, nice story and wonderful creativity.

  • Jibulu Ngozi

God has a way of working mysteriously,he spoke to her son here who is confused about the condition he sees at home and the boy loves his creator.
He could help his mom especially now that the father has left the house by convincing her to go to God’s house.

  • ifunaya chukwuemeka

Such sincerity!!! how i wish we could all hear and speak to God like this ..i think i need to go back to this format of been sincere before God not now that i have all the right words to say…bless you Ma

  • Chinedu stanley

I love the way Bruno consults God for everything he feels is bothering and also for advice. Bruno still tries to act calm despite everything happening at home is confusing and this shows he’s smart. Thank u ma’am for this awesome story

  • Oh! Poor child he must be going through difficulties to unravel the mystery behind her parents differences , and I believe God speak to his people no matter their size, age and position in the society. I believe God is trying to use Bruno to pass a message to his parents.

  • Agbo onyekachi obumneme

God speaks through various means. He can speak through any person irrespective of the person’s status or age. Some think that God speak only through “men of God” but it is not always like that. That is why we must pay attention to anybody with message for us. God might just be speaking and we out of our ignorance or arrogance ignore His message.
I pray that God answers this boy.

  • Okoli Ezinne

So touching, one thing I know for sure is that God always Listen to our cries.
Talking to the imaginary friend is a very good thing.
    Thank you ma.

  • Onwuamaeze Ikechukwu John

Really love the young boy outspokenness, God spoke through him. There’s a lesson which I got, that is; God can use anybody to convey His message. He sure speak to us in one way or the other, we just have to listen to His words whenever He does that.

  • Ernest Sixtus

God is mighty…… Even from a child He reveals his plans for us. No wonder why He so much cherish the children more than every other category of human beings. Bruan is clearly an instrument of God. God is using him to foretell his nearest plans.

  • Precious

I feel he can help his mum despite her lackadaisical attitude towards church. The fact that she listened to her son and believed him is heartwarming. There’s no broken home that God cannot fix. Her son may be source of her healing.

  • Ajibe Chinonye

I loved the way the young boy talked to God which is something most adults don’t really do.But I believe strongly that all will be set right in the family soon.

  • mary R

God proves to omniscient through these little boy. The child may be an instrument for the redemption of the family.. Well only time will tell.

  • Ozioko Glory Oluchi

Wow, I love this boy, the way he talks and listens to God. I think he can actually help even though his parents do not go to church. God is looking for a man to stand in the gap, and I think he is the man in that family.

  • Ezeh Onyekachukwu c

I am trying my best to figure out something. I am trying to find out if this boy is a prophet. He is actually acting weird.

  • Edeh Chinaza Jennifer

I strongly believe that things will turn out well for this home. Jesus came to heal the brokenhearted and He is obviously using her son as a vessel of honour to restore the home.

  • Omaga Chiagozie

Who told you that? “God” isn’t it high time she tell the boy what is going on having observed the way he respond to things and how he know things without being told. I suggest she open up to him because as am seeing it, he is the solution to her problem.

  • Ogbu Gloria

I feel it’s high time his mum tells him what is going on, if not for anything, the fact that God speaks to him and he freely communicates with God.
I feel bad for Bruno because he is doing what his parent meant to do for him. As parents, they’re meant to access the throne of grace for their son, not him(a six year old) going through all these because of them.
The foundation of all their problem is because they are not saved, they should retrace their steps back to God.

  • Okoloji kosisochukwu vivian

I am just as confused as the kids. Indeed God speaks to the kid,I don’t know how but I really hope and believe he will speak to me as well, some day.
I can’t just wait for the next episode.??

  • Eze Blessing Ada

Honestly, the parents are blessed with a child who is in the way of the Lord. His mannerisms are amazing (maybe weird someone might say). But wow!! He really was given to his parents for the right reasons. I must admit Ma, this story is a wonderful one.
