  • Edith, dear, I felt refreshed by truth after reading this. Keep writing, Sister?

  • Abutu, Charity Nebechi

indeed no one’s life is perfect because one thing or the other must disturb a man. That’s why it is said that we should live in hope.

  • Ugwu Chiamaka

Wow! That was an eye-opener. Your mind is filled with so much wisdom which is manifested in your writeups. You are an epitome of God’s work. Ride on, ma. Keep writing. Change lives and touch souls.

    • Edith Ohaja

Your comment is so encouraging. I give God the glory for the little He’s helping me do and I pray it bears great fruit in Jesus’ name. I pray greater wisdom and grace upon your life too in Jesus’ name.

  • I loved this post, Edith! I enjoyed the fact that you said we can gain wisdom from others’ experiences also. It’s what parents try so hard to instill into our children, so they won’t make the same mistakes we did. We want to spare them pain, so we share our wisdom, and God promises goodness to children who heed the wisdom of their parents. But so often, children and adults and even Christians; choose their own path anyway, refusing the wisdom offered. If only people could understand that wisdom is a gift, a free gift! It’s free for those who want it. The Bible even promises that God will give it to us; we only need to ask! So why don’t we ask for it every day? I think I need to start praying every single day for more wisdom! I write about it, so I definitely need to pray for it! Here is a link to a few of my posts on wisdom:

life is measured in donation not in duration. thank you.

    • Edith Ohaja

Alright! I would imagine donation is referring to the good that one does. Thanks a lot, my dear. You are favoured in Jesus’ name.

  • Sunday Ezekwesiri Daniel

This is indeed a wonderful article,I appreciate the fact that you said “experience is the best teacher but it doesn’t mean it should be our own experience” most people misunderstand this, people at times do not realize that we can learn from other people’s mistake and that it can help order our steps aright concerning that particular issue. Also I love what you said “affluence without generosity stinks” most people who are wealthy do not deem it necessary to help people who are in need rather they lavish their wealth on irrelevant stuffs forgetting that generosity speaks. Straining to impress others is vanity, in life we must not do something to impress others because people will always see fault in you no matter how you try to impress them so it is better to be true to yourself. I so much love this work may the good Lord continue to strengthen you.

  • AGwu Tochukwu Frank

Affluence without generosity stinks even more than a rotten egg. I love the quote ma

  • AMARAM CHRISTIANA CHIDINMA

“As long as you have life in you, never say there is nothing to look forward to”. This quote is highly motivational. It served as a reminder to me that when you have life, there are a lot of opportunities to look forward to because”When there is life, there is hope”. The quote is really captivating! Thanks a lot, Ma. God bless you.

  • Nwanne Judith

If you really want to enjoy life, take it slow, taste everything in measured doses and pause to appreciate it all. the accompany pix of mother and child said it all. Nothing to add ma.

  • OKAFOR CHIAMAKA MIRACLE

“Straining yourself to please someone is vanity, be true to yourself.” Ma, this is a wonderful post, the fourth quote talks to me, just be yourself, being true to yourself entails a lot, you get to discover who you really are and work on your weaknesses and improve your strength. Try to please others at the expense of your self esteem, you fail. God bless you ma.

  • Okeke Grace Amarachi

Straining to impress others is vanity,Always be true to yourself.
Most times we try to go out of our way to please and impress people and we end up acting all fake and getting lost in the process. There’s nothing like being who you really are without pretense.

  • OGBOBI BLESSING OJONOMA

I love nos. 3 and 4. No one is perfect, there is always something missing. Everyone has a peculiar thing in his/her life that differs from others. Am guilty in that no. 3, which says straining to impress others is bad. I want to be the best version of what God wants me to be and not to displease God.

    • Edith Ohaja

  • ASOGWA CHIBUZOR HENRY

No one’s life is perfect. There’s always that one thing, or more, that is missing. The only one who can claim perfection is God Almighty. We must acknowledge and praise him always.

  • ONUOHA PROSPER

Straining to impress others is vanity. Always be true to yourself. This is common about youth of our generation.great quotes indeed.

  • Ugwoke Somto Promise

AS LONG AS YOU HAVE LIFE IN YOU, NEVER SAY THERE IS NOTHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO.
With life there is hope so it is not over until it is over.

  • Nnamani Nnenna

This is a very wonderful article. i love number 4 because it is now a normal thing for people to pretend to be who they are not to impress a human being like them which shouldn’t be so.Also number 6 because everyone should work hard to archive their goals.

  • Okere Grace Onyinyechi

Very insightful MA. Sometimes people seem not to be comfortable with nice persons, they always think that they have hidden agenda forgetting the fact that some people are just nice.

  • Dennis Lydia Ekperechukwu

This quote is full of wisdom. Yes we don’t have to learn from our experience only but from other peoples experience. And as far as we are human we don’t have to give up in life we have to keep trying.

  • ifunaya chukwuemeka

As long as there is life there is hope, and no one is God wow those are a bombshell..bless you Ma, these will be my new found watchword

  • Amarachi Duru

One of the greatest plague of our generation is that everybody thinks every body is doing it. Statements like “do not trust anybody” is good but is one of the problems we are facing, every body is a suspect, nobody seems to believe in the goodness of another. For every good act, people always tend to think there is a hidden agenda, but is this true? I concur to #1 quote, not really everybody has a hidden agenda, the problem is that people tend to make an over generalisation and also try to judge others by their own weaknesses, but the truth is, some folks are just plain nice.

  • Anabude oluchi

Nice one here, in reference to point two there is need to be generous and large hearted because you have not lived if you have not put a smile on the face of someone.

  • Joseph joy

Straining to impress others is vanity, living your real life attracts favor, because people will really know you for who you are

  • Okechukwu Obiora C

Keep writing ma for God Almighty will reward you because you are impacting on the lives of those that come across you through your blog

  • Chima ella

No one is perfect something must surely be missing. Only the greedy ones fight for more, everything in this life should be moderate.

  • Yeah, life teaches us that no one is perfect, but we should understand that in our imperfections we should strive to be the best version of ourselves. We shouldn’t trust anyone but we have to trust someone.

  • Immanuella Uwa

Live in Hope. That is what the world is lacking. Hope that the best is still ahead and be patient to Gods will.

  • IBEH CHIAMAKA JENNIFER

These life quotes are all good. Truly, there is no amount of effort you put into impressing others that turns out fruitful. You will just end up living a fake life or doing things that is not part of you and again, no one is perfect. People have too much high expectation of you sometimes, to the point where they believe you to be without flaws and the habit of making a mistake in your gene. That is very wrong.

  • Abaraonye, Chidinma Blessing

Your quotes are lovely ma, this one caught my attention “You cannot gather brushwood, kindle it and then tell it not to burn. This is a true quote, and it will help us to be careful with what we do”.

  • Ezekiel Stanley C.

Well stated, but one question ma. You said in number 3 that “No one’s life is perfect. There’s always that one thing, or more, that is missing” Apostle Paul while writing to the Corinthians says
2 Corinthians 13:11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.
2 Corinthians 13:9 For we are glad, when we are weak, and ye are strong: and this also we wish, even your perfection.
Philippians 3:15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.
Now, for an instance, there are great men of God who we can say lived or are living perfect life according to the will God. What do you have say about this Ma… Please guid me.

    • Edith Ohaja

Paul is urging us to be perfect but even he acknowledged that he is still working towards that as we all do this side of heaven:

      Philippians 3:8-14 (KJV)
“that I may win Christ,] 9[And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:] 10[That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;] 11[If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.] 12[Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.] 13[Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but ] this[ one thing ] I do[, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,] 14[I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”

So even though technically speaking we are perfect in Christ Jesus, we are still in the process of working out that perfection, subduing the old man (sin) that Christ might be fully formed in us.

      Philippians 2:12 (KJV)
“12Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.”

No living soul is perfect, everyone is walking by grace to attain perfection. The Lord Jesus said it to a Pharisee as seen below:

      Matthew 19:16-17 (KJV)
“16[And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?] 17And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.”

  • Menkiti Vivian

I got that ma: “Not everyone has a hidden agenda. Some folks out there are just plain nice”
And is why I must say we should not be in baste to judge, we should give room for doubt sometimes… Bless you always Ma…

  • Vincentia Charles chisom

Number eight reminds me so much of the stories i heard as a kid of the crafty tortoise and how he eventualy gets punished for his craftiness. This quotes goes beyond it’s quality to really affect our life for good.

  • Itodo Amarachukwu Grace

Thank you so much ma for sharing. I will try as much as possible to implement the ones that struck me
